Objectives:
 Students will match the pitches “Sol-Mi” while chanting a poem with sock puppets in 2
or less attempts.

Procedure:
 Sit in a circle
 Demonstrate the Poem
o My name is Yin, Hello. My name is Yang, Hello. Yin said Hi to Yang, Hello
Yang said high Yin, Hello. And they sang and they sang and they sang and they
sang. Hello.
o The two syllables of “Hello” are Sol-Mi
o The two students holding the sock puppets respond with “Hello” the rest of the
class says the rest of the poem.
 Go around the circle singing the poem passing the sock puppets around to each student.

Assessment
 Did the student sing “Sol-Mi” with two of fewer attempts? 0, 1, 2, 3
0=no, 1=High and Low but not Sol-Mi. 2=Sol-Mi after 2 attempts, 3=Sol-Mi after 1
attempt
