Reflection:
For this lesson, I was given the unit test to use as a guide. Making the connection to a story that
all the students know was extremely beneficial. I acted out the story as my motivation, this engaged the
students instantly and reviewed the classic tale. With background knowledge already in mind, students
then read various sentences. I think that this made the activity more fun for the students. As a group we
dissected the subjects in each sentence and then moved on to the predicate. I was very pleased with this
portion of the lesson. Students were understanding and ready to try some sentences on their own. The
worksheet was very close to the kind of problems the students would be seeing on the test. The
directions did prove to be a little too complicated for the students. In the future, I hope to make my
directions more specific and simpler for students to follow.
