I. TITLE: DIVISION TRAINING FOR NEWLY HIRED / UNTRAINED


KINDERGARTEN TEACHERS

II. RATIONALE:
Pursuant to the “Kindergarten Education Act” (Republic Act No. 10157),
mandatory and compulsary Kindergarten education that effectively promotes
physical, social, cognitive, and emotional skills stimulation and values formation is
offered to all five (5)-year old children to sufficiently prepare them for Grade One.
The Kindergarten Education is designed to improve the child’s development in social
skills, self-awareness, respect for others, emotional skills, language, literacy and
numeracy skills, a joy for learning and group activities, ability to make new friends,
and exposure to new ideas and concepts. Therefore, the Kindergarten teacher
should enhance the different skills to develop the child readiness in school

III. OBJECTIVES:
The activity aims to:
 equip Kindergarten teachers with better understanding of the developmental
characteristics of the young learners;
 orient participants on the Kindergarten curriculum materials (KCG, KTG,
KLM);
 enhance teachers’ knowledge in classroom management and preparation of
developmentally appropriate learning materials; and
 gain understanding on the child development principles vis-à-vis
developmentally appropriate practices;
