Public Speaking and Persuasion Prerequisite: None


Course Description: Persuasion in various public speaking situations Course Credit: 3 units

Upon completion of this course, the students should be able to:


1. Apply communication theories in public speaking situations;
2. Demonstrate critical thinking through crafting, analyzing, and evaluating of persuasive messages in public
speaking situations;
3. Employ appropriate and effective persuasive strategies for public speaking purposes;
4. Exemplify effective and ethical use of verbal and nonverbal symbols in persuasive speeches; and
5. Deliver well- crafted persuasive speeches on social issues.
