2.2 IMEI Checking
Press *#06# and check whether the IMEI shown in the LCD is the same with
the ones in the label, packaging and certificate.

2.3 Software Version Checking


Press [Menu ®Settings® ®About phone® ®Build number] to check whether
the software version is the latest one.

3 Software Download

3.1 Cautions
� Before you begin:
i. Please back up all user data of mobile phone, including Phonebook,
Messages and so on;
ii. Please make sure the mobile phone can be normally powered on.
Otherwise it may cause downloading failure;
iii. Take out SIM card and check whether update.zip of SD card is in
accordance with to be upgraded mobile phone. Do not modify the
folder name and extension.
iv. Check whether the battery power is enough (At least 2 cells), oth-
erwise please charge the mobile phone until the battery power is
enough.
� Do not do other operations and do not take out battery by force during
downloading.
� The SD card upgrading process will take 1-2 minutes, if the mobile phone
cannot automatically reboot after 2 minutes, please upgrade the mobile
phone again. If the mobile phone cannot be powered on, please operate
mandatory upgrade. If the mandatory upgrade is invalid, please contact
ASC

3.2 SD card upgrade


Steps
1. Download SD card upgrade package from ZTE website, then copy whole
update.zip folder to root directory of SD card ( The folder name must be
update.zip).
2. Enter into file manager to check whether the files of SD card are normal.
Click [Filer®
®sdcard® ®update.zip].

3.3 Mandatory upgrade


Steps
1. Power off the phone, hold Volume up key and Power key to enter into
recovery mode.

2. Press Power key to enter into option list.

3. Press Volume down key to choose apply update from sdcard ( up-
date file are stored in the memory of the phone) or apply update
from sdcard2 (update file are stored in the SDcard). Then press
Volume up key to confirm.

4. Press Volume down key to choose update.zip and then press Volume
up key to start upgrade.

5. The upgrade is completed after 1-2 minutes, then select reboot system
now, the mobile will restart.

Prerequisite
The mobile phone in this manual is just for your reference. It might not be
completely identical with your mobile phone.

Steps
1. Screw off the seven screws with screwdriver.

2. Separate the front cover and the back cover with housing disassembly
tool. Pay attention to the locks when disassembly and assembly.

3. The disassembled front cover and back cover are as follows.

4. Take down speaker from back cover.

5. Take down the RF coaxial cable with tweezers.

6. Loosen the FPC connector and take out FPC with tweezers.

Pay attention not to damage the FPC.

7. Loosen the LCD FPC connector and take out LCD FPC with tweezers.

Pay attention not to damage the FPC.

8. Loosen the subboard FPC connector and take out subboard FPC with
tweezers.

Note:

Pay attention not to damage the FPC.

9. Loosen the touch screen FPC connector and take out touch screen FPC
with tweezers.

10. Screw off the two screws fixing the mainboard.

Press *983*70# and the mobile phone will do basic function test automati-
cally. Check whether all functions are normal.
