I was tidying my bedroom yesterday, and I found an old photo album. It was really funny!
I was short when I was eight. My hair was longer, and I wore pink dresses. Now I’m much
taller, and my hair is short. My mum doesn’t choose my clothes now, so I can wear what I
want. I usually wear T-shirts and tracksuit bottoms.
In one of the photos, I was playing the violin in a school concert. I don’t play any
instruments now. I prefer to listen to pop music with my friends. There was also a photo
of me and my brother riding our bikes. Mt brother doesn’t cycle now – he’s got a moped. I
haven’t got a moped, but I don’t cycle much now. I usually go to school by bus.
Now I go to secondary school in the nearest town. When I was eight I went to primary
school in the village. In one photo, I was wearing my old school uniform. It was horrible –
green and yellow! Now my uniform is more comfortable – I can wear blue or black trousers
and a white top. At primary school my favourite subjects were maths and science, now I
can’t stand them! My best subjects now are art and computer studies.

Last year my mum won a holiday competition, and we went to Denmark for two weeks in
July. I went with my parents and my little sister Lauren. This was her first visit to
another country.
We travelled to Copenhagen by plane, and a representative from the travel company met
us at the airport. Her name was Mette. She was Danish, but she spoke English very well.
She took us to our hotel by car. The hotel was fantastic! It had a really big swimming
pool, a gym and a restaurant. We didn’t use the gym because we were doing other things,
but we went swimming every day.
Then we caught the train to the north of the country. We stayed in a different hotel
next to a lake. We could go fishing, sailing and cycling. Lauren loved it because she met a
Danish girl and they played together, but I thought our week in Copenhagen was better
than the second week.
It was a fantastic holiday. My mum is going to enter another holiday competition – she
wants to go to Barbados! If she wins, maybe we’ll go there next year!

Last year my mum won first prize in a holiday competition. The prize was four tickets to
Denmark for a two-week luxury holiday: one week in Copenhagen and one week in the north
of Denmark. My parents decided the best time to go was when school finished. So we went
to Denmark for the first two weeks in July. I went with my parents and my little sister
Lauren. This was her first visit to another country.
Then in the second week we caught the train to the north of the country. We had a
carriage all to ourselves so we didn’t have to share it with anyone. Danish trains are great,
they’re so clean, fast and quiet. We stayed in a very small hotel this time next to a lake.
We could go fishing, sailing and cycling. Lauren loved it because she met a Danish girl and
they played together. Personally, I thought our week in Copenhagen was better than the
week in the north.
It was a fantastic holiday. My mum is going to enter another holiday competition – she
wants to go to Barbados! If she wins, maybe we’ll go there next year!
