Learning Intention:
By the end of Year 10, students evaluate how representations communicate artistic
intentions in artworks they make and view. They evaluate artworks and displays from
different cultures, times and places. They analyse connections between visual
conventions, practices and viewpoints that represent their own and others’ ideas. They
identify influences of other artists on their own artworks.
For this task, you will be designing and creating a clay sculpture influenced by the Pop Art movement. You
will be experimenting with clay techniques to create your sculpture and then glazing your sculpture. You
will need to document your planning and experimentation in your folio.
Refer to examples and demonstrations provided by the teacher.
Students design the sculpture they would like to make, this can be simple or complex.
Worksheets and extra support will be given to students with learning difficulties.
Further demonstration of clay techniques can be given to students if needed.
