Para una medición más precisa de la asertividad de una

persona, una serie de 2 experimentos y un cuestionario se

llevaron a cabo. Una muestra de 20 estudiantes de
preparatoria del ITESM-Cuernavaca realizó todas las pruebas
de la serie. Dos grupos, 10 mujeres y 10 hombres se
formaron. Ambos grupos entraron en el rango de edad de 17 -
19 años. Los experimentos determinaron si el sujeto se
inclinó hacia la asertividad, pasividad o agresividad.

For a more accurate measurement of assertiveness of a

person, a series of two experiments and a questinnaire was
done. A sample of 20 ITESM-Cuernavaca students realized
the testings of the serie. Two groups of 10 women and 10
men were formed. Both groups are in the range of 17-19 years
old. The experiments determinated if the subject was
assertive, passive or aggressive.

El primer experimento consistió en una prueba de disparo de

dardos de la siguiente manera: el blanco a disparar fue una
mujer. Al sujeto se le pidió que disparara al blanco con el fin
de analizar su reacción. La persona que optó por huir del
experimento sin explicaciones, o simplemente se negó a
concluirlo, fue categorizada como pasivo. En cambio, si la
persona decidió disparar sin ninguna duda e incluso lo hizo
con entusiasmo, se clasificó como agresiva. Y finalmente,
aquella persona que respetuosamente preguntó por qué
debiera disparar al blanco y cuestionó a las personas que
indicaron sobre este trato injusto que pudiera herir a la
persona disparada sin motivo, se clasificó como asertiva.

The first experiment was about a shooting test of darts in the

following way: the target was a woman. The subject was
asked to shoot the target with the intention of analyzing the
subject’s reaction. The person who chose to escape of the
experiments without explainig himself, or he just declined to
conclude it, was cagorized as passive. In another hand if the
person decided to shoot with no reason or he even made it
with enthusiasm, was classified as aggressive. And finally the
person that in a respectfully way asked why he had to shoot
the target and started questioning about that unfair treatment,
was classified as assertive.

El segundo experimento consistió en un juego electrónico

sencillo y fue llevado a cabo de la siguiente manera: dos
sujetos compitieron por la obtención del puntaje más alto en
el juego. Se anunció que el ganador recibiría una recompensa
(barra de chocolate) por parte de los experimentadores. Al
final del juego, se le ofreció la recompensa al perdedor para
observar la respuesta de ambos jugadores. Si el participante
se mostró silencioso y aceptó el resultado como si éste fuera
justo, se clasificó como pasivo. En cambio, si el sujeto se
molestó y reclamó su premio groseramente, se categorizó
como agresivo. Y finalmente, la persona que
respetuosamente anunció que hay un error en la premiación,
se clasificó como asertiva.

The second experiment consisted in a simple electronic game

that was applied in the following way: two subjects compitted
for the higher score. It was announced that the winner will
receive a prize (bar chocolate). A the end of the game, the
prize was given to the looser with the objective of observing
their reaction. If the player was quiet and accepted the results
like if this was fair, he classified as passive. In another hand,
if the subject get mad and reclaimed the prize in an angry
way, he was categorized as aggressive. And finally, the
person that in a kind way announced tha there was an error, it
was classified as assertive.

La tercera prueba de la serie usó el “Test de Asertividad de

Rathus” obtenido de la página web psicoactiva que se usó
para determinar el grado de asertividad del sujeto (bajo,
medio o alto) acorde a las respuestas que del cuestionario.
The third test of the serie was using “ Rathu’s test of
assertiveness” obteined from a web named psicoactiva that
was used for determinating the level of assertivity depending
in their answers.

Los resultados del cuestionario se analizaron

estadísticamente para ver diferencias de género usando una
prueba t-student para dos muestras independientes (análisis
de datos de Excel), y para cada experimento, los resultados
para ver si había relación entre el género y la asertividad con
pruebas chi-2 de independencia (análisis de datos de Excel).

The questionnaires results were estadistically analyzed for

seeing the difference in gender using the t-student for two
independent sample ( analysing the data in excel), and for
each experiments, the results for seeing if there was a
relation between gender and the assertivity with chi-2 of
independence ( analysing the data in excel)

CONCLUSION
No se puede decir que exista diferencia en asertividad en
cuanto a género entre hombres y mujeres adolescentes, ya
que en dos de tres pruebas no se encontró diferencia. Sin
embargo la encuesta registró asertividad media para
hombres y mujeres, mientras que uno de los experimentos
registró alta asertividad para los hombres y el otro
experimento registró baja asertividad tanto para hombres
como para mujeres.

It cannot be prove that there is a differece in assertiveness in

therms of gender between teenagers, because in two of tree
tests there was found no difference. Nevertheless the test
registred medium assertivity for women and men, while one
of the others experiments registred high assertivity for men,
and the other registred low assertivity for men and women.
