BACKGROUND
Mining, Maintenance Company is a
Namibian registered company, primarily to
participate in Maintenance and mining
supply ventures throughout Southern Africa
and to capitalise on opportunities that exist
in the mining sector throughout Southern
Africa. The idea of founding an
independent maintenance company in
Southern Africa, arouse from the
undisputed need in this industry.
INTRODUCTION
Mining, Maintenance Company, takes thus
the opportunity to state what the company
is about, the management thereof and its
future prospects.
NATURE OF BUSINESS
The founding of MMC was inevitable
following the history of NCCM’s succes in
South Africa. NCCM (North Cape Core
Maintance) was established by the Nel
Family after they realized the undisputed
fact that no mining operation can be fully
efficient and prosperous without the
implementation of a well designed
maintanance plan. NCCM was initially
created as a seperate oganisation than a
devision of the mining operation, to enable
the employment of skilled tradesman and
proposing their services to neigbouring
mines.
Outsourcing of services, requiring
specialised skills and intense labour has seen
a significant uprise in the modernisation of
the Mining industry. This directly affects the
expense saving on skilled labour, investment
in equipment and resources, in comparison
to contracted services.
NCCM excelled in establishing an
honorable reputation, through justified
client service, sufficed expertise and well
honed skills amongs employees. They focus
on understanding the
needs and requirments of each individual
client and their application. Advice is given
with a background of experience in the
industry and it’s ongoing changes.

NCCM specialised in a wide range of
mechanical, machining, welding, electrical
rotating repairs, hydraulic cylinder repairs
and re-manufacturing, grinding and onsite
construction services for clients in the
mining, power generation, steel and heavy
manufacturing business sectors.
NCCM was established with the vision to
become one of the leading maintenance

2000 KIMBERLEY (SOUTH

During early 2000 the company expanded
due to successful mergers and joint
ventures.
Our competition was formidable. We knew
that, in this business, people are the driving
force and therefore we assembled the best,
the best welders, machinists, mechanics,
winders, schedulers, engineers, service
representatives and managers. As a team we
made a pledge , to ourselves and our
customer partners.
We have proudly completed various
projects successfully in South Africa.
2006 MMC is founded ( Namibia)
NCCM spearheaded numorous Mining
Maintanance contracts and have in addition
succesfully contributed, to establishing
several maintanance operations, by means
of joint ventures.
Succesful negotiations were concluded in
2006 between a Namibian company and
NCCM which brought about the
establishment of a 100% Namibian based
concern known as MMC.
MMC’s mission became the rallying concept
around which we committed to deliver
quality and service unparalleled in our field,
to deliver on time and to keep our integrity.

He grew up in a Diamond Mining
Community, with all the family members
being involved in mining for over three
generations.
He started in the family diamond mining
business in the Northern Cape in early 1998
and soon developed a niche for himself and
become indispensable to the business. At
North Capecor Diamonds cc. his duties
were focused on operations, diamond
sorting and sales.
He was responsible for the implementation
of the computerised system, which proved
vital in the stringent controls required in the
diamond business. Under the management
of Fanie and guidance of his father, the
company grew to include several substantial
operations in the Kimberley and Namibian
areas.
With the expansion of the diamond mining
operations and long distances having to be
travelled between the mines as well as
security problems the corporation acquired
a Baron aircraft to transport vital equipment
to and diamonds from these mines. Fanie
soon obtained his pilot license and played a
vital role in the speeding up of operations
with the aircraft. In 2003 he became first a
director of a chain company in the diamond
industry and then later became the
Managing Director, where after he resigned
to become the Managing Director of a
diamond mining company with operations
in South Africa and abroad.

Stephanus Jacobus Nel (Fanie) was born in
1955 in the Northern Province. His family
was involved in alluvial diamond mining and
Fanie Grew up in a milieu where mining
took precedence.
After his schooling, he started his own
operation during the 1970’s and went from
strength to strength as he built on his
success since then.
In the early 1990’s he moved to the
Northern Cape as one of the largest
individual mines and established a mining
company.
He led the Company since then as CEO. As
a businessman and with healthy financial
management the company became a giant in
alluvial diamond mining in the Northern
Cape. The assets of the company were
extensive and all equipment is selected for
mining within any environment.

Lesedi attended the University of the
North from 1985 – 1989 and graduated
with a Bsc. in Geology. In 1990 he
joined De Beers Diamond Exploration
as a Graduate field officer. At De Beers
he was involved in the Lichtenburg
diamond exploration project, intensive
exploration and drilling at Ottosdal and
thereafter he lead a stream sampling
team in the Waterberg region.
In 1994 Lesedi decided to further his
education and attended the Graduate
School of Business at University Cape
Town studying associate in
Management. In 1995 Lesedi joined
Saftainer Shipping as a Trainee Manager
Import & Export.
He was exposed to import & export
container management, clearing and
forwarding procedures.
In 1996 Lesedi joined Shell S.A (Pty)
Ltd as a Marketing Operations Trainee.
In 1997 he was promoted to
administration Manager at the Port
Elizabeth depot. His duties comprised
of managing and training staff admin
activities in the depot, reconciling the
depots stock on a daily basis and
managing the depots transport
operations and drivers.
Shell SA transferred Lesedi to Cape
Town in 2000 and appointed him as
business controller. His duties includes
identifying business risks and providing
input into the implementation of
strategies to manage or reduce risks as
well as assisting in the development and
maintenance of business controls.
Lesedi’s knowledge and experience in
mining exploration as well as controls
and Management is a definite asset to
MMC.
CONCLUSION
MMC is in the process of establishing a
platform comprising of all the essential
ingredients to ensure uncompromised
relationships and to guarantee sustained
service excellence and continued client
growth.
The directors will manage the business
of the Company from inception and as
the business expands will appoint the
