AAA Stars Costumes, Hair and Make-Up
The Huntsville City Schools magnet program in conjunction with the Academy Children’s Theatre will
provide costumes.
Students who participate in the Academy Stars wear coordinated costumes that will be measured,
fitted, and altered by a contracted team of costumers commissioned by ACT to ensure proper fit and
consistency. Costumes will be ordered through Southeastern Apparel by Ms. Stricklin.
Girls Checklist
• Black character shoes (1.5” regular strap not t-straps)
• Dance tights to match skin tone. These should be seamless tights, not pantyhose.

Girls are expected to comply with hair and make-up guidance provided by
Ms. Stricklin and the makeup artist. Girls will receive a class on hair and make-up.
Boys Checklist
• Solid Black t-Shirt
• Black, lace-up dress shoes (leather soles), properly shined
• Black Socks
• Black Belt
For performances, boys are expected to present a clean-cut appearance. They may be required
to get haircuts at Ms. Stricklin’s direction.
All items are due by Friday, October 19th. If assistance for any purchase(s) is needed, please
email Jenny Stricklin at jennifer.stricklin@hsv-k12.org. All requests are strictly confidential.
Stars Parent Commitment Contract
Your child worked very hard during Stars auditions, and they succeeded! Parents play a vital role in
the group’s overall success. It is important that we are all clear on the parent’s level of support and
commitment to the Stars and their leaders. Please carefully read the following agreement, sign and
date it, and return it to us. Thank you for your support.

· Attend ALL mandatory parent meetings. If I absolutely cannot attend a meeting, I will send
another adult representative in my place.
· Keep track of the rehearsal and performance schedules.
· Observe the guidelines for conflicting activities, as follows:
- If a different activity has practice at the same time as a Stars’ rehearsal or performance,
my child will attend the Stars’ rehearsal or performance.
- If a different activity has a game or performance at the same time as the Stars’
rehearsal, then my child is excused from Stars’ rehearsal.
- If a different activity has a game or performance at the same time as a Stars’
Performance, then my child will attend the Stars’ performance.
