How would PosMalaysia’s role evolves following the
trend of Postal Liberalization.

Stakeholder Impact / Changes

COO of PosMel • Universal Service Obligation - Pos Malaysia will have to serve everyone
and everywhere in the country under a uniform rates. Pos Malaysia
therefore bear the burden of maintaining large fixed-cost networks.
CEO • Pos Malaysia will be vulnerable to new entrants who will target the most
profitable segments. Therefore threaten the posts’ ability to maintain a
viable economic position.
Marketing & • Pos Malaysia will have now have to market its service and compete with
Sales other competitors with a differentiated marketing strategy.
Chief Strategy • Pos Malaysia will have to make important changes, including aggressive
Officer cost reductions, increased pricing flexibility, improved service quality and
innovation, and diversified revenue, all in response to or in anticipation of
postal liberalization.

* Postal Liberalization will have almost no effect on PosLaju and PosNiaga since Postal Act
only place restriction on “Mail Service”.
