Steps in the MBO Process
1. Develop the organisation’s goals and strategies
2. Establish specific goals for departments
3. Dept managers jointly set specific objectives for
their dept with their managers
4. Specific objectives are jointly set with all dept
members
5. Action plans are formulated and agreed upon by
managers and employees
6. Implement the action plans
7. Review progress periodically
