Science: THE PLANT KINGDOM

1-Plants are living things. Las plantas son seres vivos.

Plants need air, sunlight ,soil and water to grow. Las plantas
necesitan aire, luz del sol, tierra y agua para crecer.

2- Parts of a plant. Partes de una planta.

Plants have: seeds, roots, stem, leaves and flowers. Las plantas
tienen semillas,raíces, tallo, hojas y flores.

Leaves absorb sunlight- las hojas absorben la luz del sol.

Roots absorb water- las raíces absorben agua.

Flowers produce seeds- las flores producen semillas.

A plant can be a tree, bush or grass depending on the stem . Una
planta puede ser un árbol,arbusto o hierba dependiendo del tallo.

trees have a trunk. Los árboles tienen tronco.
Bushes have many stems. Los arbustos tienen muchos tallos.
Grass is thin. La hierba es fina.

3- Plants we eat. Las plantas que comemos.

We eat different parts of plants. Comemos diferentes partes de una
planta: Leaves-hojas, fruit-fruto, root-raíz, seed-semilla, stem- tallo,
flower-flor.

4- Uses of plants. Utilidades de las plantas.

People use many plants for making other things. Usamos

las plantas para hacer otras cosas.
