Find service providers
I recive some dwg files where a series of block reference define the facade of the building, now i have use
their shape to extact the boundary. Unfourtunately are more than 2000 of object and ACAD craash every time Connect, consult with, and hire
i try this procedure there is any other way to do it?! Report

First off, you don't explain exactly what your procedure is, so that somebody could suggest an
alternative. How are you using 'their shape to extract the boundary'?

Can you just create a new polyline and trace the boundary?

Use ncopy. Works on xref's too. Report

Wow! I can't remember ever using ncopy. Only vaguely remember hearing about it before. I must be
getting old!

It is a very useful utility. I'm using it right now in C3D to pull in utility linework from my xref'd topo
drawing to my alignment drawing. I use it just about every day. Report

You can try WMFOUT it and insert the wmf file back.
It's quick than pick up 2000 objects with ncopy.

Dear All,

thank you very much for your answers, sorry for the late but i was out for a couple of days....
I found very useful all of your answer to try to solve my problem.

To be more specific the trouble comes out to try to extract a  continous polyline from a a series of
blocks reference that describe the outline of my building in plan.
The task is simplify a construction plan that have to be converted in .ai
So i have to leave every technical detail (insulation....facade components etc) fill every wall etc etc and
convert it to.

how can i also convet these block reference or mline object just in polyline or line.
For convert it the dwg in .ai as the sustomer request i was using using rhino but every time i try to open
it half of the drawing is not the most of the proxy object are missed.

It seems like your best bet is to trace what you want with a polyline, as I suggested, or to use ncopy, as
rdlongbow suggested.

sheet its a nightmare ncopy work just over half of the object. the facade is created with blockreference
and polyline and there are a lot of polyline overlapped...... :(

About the WMF file i dont really understand the procedure.... Report

It was the first test............to much object no way to use it! Autocad crash every seconds Report
