JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems. We
design, rigorously evaluate, and refine these solutions and their applications together with decision makers to
ensure that the evidence created is used to improve opportunities for the world’s poor.

I. Job Identification

Position: Data officer

Project Name: Labeled Remittances project
Project Duration: 1 month with expected start date 31 August 2018
Position Status: Project-based, part-time, 4 hours per day, with possibility of extension to full-time
Location: IPA office in Ortigas, Manila

II. About the Position: The Data Officer will manage data on the backend system of a smartphone application
developed for this project. Training will take place on 23 August 2018 the earliest.

III. General Responsibilities:

 On a daily basis, review new data entered by the app users on the backend system.
 Identify and mark duplicate and dummy data entries.
 Approve solid data entries, upon confirming accuracy of data.
 Encode required certain information in the backend system.
 Communicate timely to the project’s Research Associate about any issues, eg. system errors.

IV. Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in economics, business, public policy, social sciences, or related field.

Skills:
o Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
o Ability to communicate timely and remotely.
o High proficiency in using digital platforms, electronic devices, mobile applications.
o Highly detail-oriented.
o Self-motivated.
o Strong time management skills.

V. Working Condition: The position requires working on a laptop at IPA’s office in Ortigas, Manila (Mon-Fri)
and remotely from home (Sat-Sun). Minimum time commitment is 4 hours per day, 7 days per week.
