But one thing is clear. Our products are not skylights. They are
high-performance daylighting systems that use advanced optics to
significantly improve the way daylight is harnessed. It’s our passion for

over 40 countries.
This document is designed with the intent to clearly define how and
where the Solatube brand should be used in communication – both
print and online. Please use these guidelines when designing any
marketing or communication materials that discuss Solatube products.
If you have any questions regarding this document or need clarification

When referring to the corporate entity, Solatube International, Inc. should always be used. The use of Solatube
alone is not a recognized company name. In formal written communications, the incorporated designation may be
dropped after the first instance.

dating back to the mid-1980s. Widely recognized as the industry innovator, Solatube International has earned acclaim
around the globe for its unrivaled ability to transform interior spaces with the power of daylight. For more information

Logo & Tagline
The Solatube® Logo is designed to stand alone with or without a tagline. Use the Solatube® Logo for legal docu-
ments, and non-marketing applications. The LOGOMARK is the sun design on the left side of the logo unit. The
LOGOTYPE is the “Solatube” Lettering. The LOGOMARK and LOGOTYPE must always be used together to ensure a
strong and viable brand presence throughout all marketing and corporate materials.

When using the tagline the following rules generally apply:
1. Use the tagline when you are looking to express our innovation positioning
2. Use when introducing Solatube International into new markets or campaigns
2. Do not use when sizing considerations would compromise readability

Clearance
The clearance zone maintains the integrity of the logo by providing the appropriate negative space around the Sola-
tube Logo. Ensure that other graphic elements do not enter the appropriate clearance zone.
Color Options
The logo and tagline is made up of two colors as designated below. No other colors are currently approved for the
Solatube logo.

Alternate Layouts
In some instances, the tagline and logotype may be displayed in a non-standard layout. Always use the same
typeface for the tagline. All other rules regarding usage still apply.
Vertical
Position the logo at 90° facing

Horizontal Pipe
When necessary, a horizontal layout is allowed. The pipe spacing should allow one BMU (Basic Measurement Unit
as defined on page 6) on either side. (See Clearance). The pipe should always be Pantone 3005, and match the
logo. The height should align to the bottom and top of the sun, with a weight equal to rays on the logo.

The Solatube logo may be used in 1-color applications as shown below. All other regulations apply.

Typography
In order to maintain brand integrity, type will be limited to the Helvetica Neue family.
Typography Rules
When applying type rules the following generally apply:
1. Condensed fonts are not preferred and should be limited where space and sizing are a consideration.
2. Do not mix Helvetica Neue and Helvetica Neue condensed fonts in the same layout
3. Do not use Helvetica New Extended Typefaces
4. For body copy, generally try to keep sizing at least 10 points. Preferred body copy in marketing materials is:
Helvetica Neue Light, 10 points, Leading >= 14pt
5. When possible allow line spacing and leading to be 120% or greater of the type size
6. Limited loose kerning and tracking (i.e. E X A M P L E )
7. Hyphenation. Avoid hyphenation unless absolutely necessary
8. Avoid using all caps in headlines or copy unless required

Color
The Solatube® Color Palette is designed and selected to complement the Solatube Logo colors. Whenever possible,
use of the Secondary Color Palette should be limited to allow the logo to stand out more effectively.

Product Branding
Keeping consistent product naming conventions is not only key to identifying and naming the product, but also to
maintain the integrity of the Solatube® Brand. Generally, when a product is first mentioned you are required to use the
formal name. For each additional occurence common name can be used. At no time is the product itself to be
referred to as a “Solatube” or “Solatubes.”
Product Series
Solatube Daylighting Systems are organized in two series based on light output and application. The series is
generally used when categorizing and organizing the products (such as catalogs) is required. The “Solatube” must
procede the name of the specific series.

In order to maintain brand and product naming integrity, it’s generally accepted that the Formal Use (Full Product
Name) is used for the first occurrence in all marketing materials, and the common use can be used thereafter within
the same document.
