Body:
1. With light gray, ch 20, sc in 2nd chain from
the hook, [dc-inc, sl st] in next chain, sc in
next 3 chains, [dc-inc, sl st] in next chain, sc
in next 7 chains, [dc-inc, sl st] in next
chain, sc in next 3 chains, [dc-inc, sl st] in
next chain, sc in next. You have just made
the feet! Turn and begin working on the
other side of the chains to start the body.
Edging:
With the right side facing you, reattach at tip of 1st
ear, sc evenly down the ear and side of the body.
When you reach the feet, *skip the [sc, dc-inc, sl st]
(4) stitches of each foot, inc behind it instead.* To
do this, fold the foot down towards you, you’ll see a
fairly loose loop in the middle (see photo below),
that’s where you make the inc. Sc in the next 2
stitches, repeat between **, sc in next 6, repeat **,
sc 2, repeat **.

Tail:
For
this
part,
carrying your yarn through the color changes can be
a bit tricky, but I think it does look better in the end.
If carrying is too much, you can always cut & tie.
Just make sure to tie on the back side and sew in all
the extra ends.
1. Attach dark gray yarn to the edging stitch
halfway up the body. Make a sc in that same
stitch, sc in the next 2 stitches, change to
light gray, ch 1 & turn (3)
2. Inc, dec, change to dark gray, ch 1 & turn (3)
3. Dec, inc, change to light gray, ch 1 & turn (3)
4. Inc, dec, change to dark gray, ch 1 & turn (3)
5. Dec, inc, ch 1 & turn (3)
6. Dec skipping over middle stitch (1)
FO. You’ll have 4 more ends to sew in.
Protip: Sew the ends in a way that makes
the color changes look neater!
Details:
-Cut a long piece of dark gray yarn and sew 3 lines
between the ears. Double the lines up, pulling
tightly, then cut & tie.
-Cut another long piece of dark gray yarn and sew 5
lines for each of the spots on the top of the body.
Don’t pull these too tight or you’ll lose the arc of the
back. I also found it worked best when all 5 lines
met at the same point.
-Embroider the whiskers and mouth.
-Cut 2 tiny circles of black felt and attach how you
like. I use craft or hot glue.
All done! You can attach magnets to the back, put
him in a shadow box, glue him to a birthday card, or
put him on an embroidery hoop like I did. The

Cut out two 1 inch circles out of white felt for the

Fold the eye in half and make a small cut near the
