Content: Nature of Inquiry and Research

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of the importance


of research in daily life

I. Objectives (Learning Competencies)

Throughout the session, the students will:

 Define the research,


 Share their research experiences and knowledge through
group presentation,
 Value the importance of research in daily life through oral
recitation,
 identify the different types of research.

A. Activity
Activity 1: Think-Pair-Share

The students will think of an experience when you were very


curious about something and share it to a partner. Refer to the
following guide questions for the sharing:

1. What was the concept/thing that you were curious about?


2. How did you ease your curiosity?
(refer to page 2 of the Teacher’s Manual)
B. Analysis
Activity 2: What are the Possibilities?
The students will give their perception whether the given
situations/contexts are possible or not possible
(refer to page 2 of the Teacher’s Manual)
C. Abstraction
KWL Chart
Topic: Research in our Daily Lives
The students will list on the first column, the things they know
about research in our daily lives. On the second column, they list
things that they want to know about research in our daily lives. On
the third column, they will list the things that they have learned
(based on your readings) about research in our daily lives.
(refer to page 3 of the Teacher’s Manual)
Discussion

The class will have a discussion about definition of research


in daily life, types of research in daily life, importance of research
in daily life.

D. Application
Complete the Paragraph
Complete the paragraph by giving necessary details.

Creative Presentation
Present a creative presentation focusing on the importance of
research:
Group 1: Song (using a tune of any popular song)
Group 2: Short Skit
Group 3: Catchphrase/Tagline
