FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING AND REPORTING EXAM CHALLENGE


ACCOUNTANCY WEEK 2018

Guidelines:

 Participating member school shall send five (5) participants to compose a team but will
take the exam individually. The participant must be bona fide member of CF-JPIA and
JPIA Chapter of the school they represent. The participants are required to present their
official school ID and study load upon registration 30 minutes before the start of the
exam.

 Graduates are disqualified to join.

 The coverage for the exam shall be based on the CPA Licensure Examination Syllabus
for Financial Accounting and Reporting effective May 2017 Examination.

 The examination shall be written and objective type. It can be the theory or problem
questions which shall be prepared by the Sponsoring Firm. The exam shall have 50 to
70 multiple choice questions. The examination shall be good for three (3) hours only.

 There shall be team winners. Individual scores of the team shall be added to determine
total scores of the team. The top five (5) highest team scores shall be declared winners
as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively and shall be awarded with plaques.

 There shall also be individual winners. The top ten (10) highest individual scores shall
be declared winners and shall be awarded with medals.

 The Sponsoring Firm shall check the examination papers of the participants and shall
determine the team and individual winners.

 All winners shall be announced and awarded during the Closing Ceremony of the
Accountancy Week 2018 on July 21, 2018.

AUDITING EXAM CHALLENGE


ACCOUNTANCY WEEK 2018

BUSINESS LAW AND TAX EXAM CHALLENGE


ACCOUNTANCY WEEK 2018

Guidelines:

 Participating member school shall send five (5) participants to compose a team but will
take the exam individually. The participant must be bona fide member of CF-JPIA and
JPIA Chapter of the school they represent. The participants are required to present their
official school ID and study load upon registration 30 minutes before the start of the
exam.

 Graduates are disqualified to join.

 The coverage for the exam shall be based on the CPA Licensure Examination Syllabi
for Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions and Taxation effective May 2017
Examination.

 The examination shall be written and objective type. It can be the theory or problem
questions which shall be prepared by the Sponsoring Firm. The exam shall have 70 to
100 multiple choice questions. The examination shall be good for three (3) hours only.

 There shall be team winners. Individual scores of the team shall be added to determine
total scores of the team. The top five (5) highest team scores shall be declared winners
as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively and shall be awarded with plaques.

 There shall also be individual winners. The top ten (10) highest individual scores shall
be declared winners and shall be awarded with medals.

LEVEL 1 QUIZ BOWL GUIDELINES
ACCOUNTANCY WEEK 2018

 Participating school shall send two (2) contestants to compose a team. The participants
are limited to undergraduates only and must be at most in the third year and must have
completed or are currently taking the following subjects:

1. Fundamentals of
Accounting
2. Partnership Accounting
3. Corporation Accounting
4. Financial Accounting

 The participants must be a bona fide member of CF-JPIA and in the JPIA Chapter of
the school they represent.

 The seating arrangement of the contestants/teams shall be in alphabetical order


according to the name of school.

 Any member of the team can be designated to answer the question.

 The quizmaster reads all theory questions twice and once for problem questions before
the contestants answers them simultaneously. The answer on each question shall be
written in the board provided and to be raised after the ring of the bell, which signifies
the expiration of the time allotted for the question.

 The time allotted for THEORY QUESTIONS shall be 10 seconds and PROBLEM
QUESTIONS shall be 30 seconds for EASY, 45 seconds for AVERAGE, 60 seconds
for DIFFICULT. The counting of time shall start after the quizmaster says “GO”.

 Contestants will be given a copy of each PROBLEM QUESTIONS for them to read
along with the quizmaster. The contestants are allowed to manipulate their calculator
only when the quizmaster says "GO". Anyone caught violating this rule shall be given
a warning for the first offensive and shall be disqualified for the next offense.

 Each contestant is to answer six (6) on each subject mentioned in rule no. 1 or a total
of 24 questions. There will be three rounds: Easy, Average, and Difficult. The
corresponding points and number of questions each round as follows:
EASY 5 POINTS 8 QUESTIONS
AVERAGE 10 POINTS 8 QUESTIONS
DIFFICULT 15 POINTS 8 QUESTIONS

 The team who gets the first three highest points shall be declared winners as 1st, 2nd
and 3rd placers respectively.

 In cases where contestants gain equal points who vied for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, these
shall be broken by an additional tie breaking question using a sudden death system.

 After every question is answered, the quizmaster will give his decision whether or not
the answer is correct. In case the answer is debatable, the quizmaster will confer with
the judges. Only the contestants may forward questions/clarifications pertaining to the
questions.

 Protests and/or clarifications regarding a particular question should be raised before the
next question is asked; otherwise, such protest shall not be honored, unless the board of
judges decides to defer the resolution of the protested question. THE DECISION OF
THE JUDGES IS FINAL.

 After every decision of the correctness of the answer is given, the official scorer, using
the point system previously mentioned, will tally the score.

 All winners shall be announced right after the contest but will be awarded during the
Closing Ceremony of the Accountancy Week 2018 on July 21, 2018.

Note:
All contestants must be at the venue 60 minutes before the start of the contest. The contestants
are required to preset their official school ID and study load upon registration.
