Planned Route 66 auto museum support continues to grow

The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum receives significant support to construct the museum
and the planned tower from Bennett Steel and American Heritage Bank

SAPULPA, Oklahoma _ Sapulpa-based Bennett Steel and American Heritage Bank are
making lead donations to help with the construction phase of the planned Heart of Route
66 Auto Museum in Oklahoma.

The money and manpower will go toward finishing the museum and building the American
Heritage Bank tower, a 66-foot-tall vintage-inspired gas pump planned for outside the
museum, according to Richard Holmes, president of the Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum,
Inc., the not-for-profit organization creating the museum.

“American Heritage Bank and Bennett Steel are both wonderful supporters of the Sapulpa
community,” Holmes said. “These contributions put the museum in an excellent situation to
be able to have our iconic tower built, which will help draw Route 66 travelers to our
location in Sapulpa.”

The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum is currently under development at the old armory
along Route 66. The museum will feature vintage cars and a variety of exhibits about Route
66, including how the military used the famed road. Interactive and simulated displays as
well as a gift shop and kids' area are also planned for the 10,000-square-foot property.

“The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum will be a valuable addition to Sapulpa,” said Jim
Dilley, CEO of American Heritage Bank. “We, along with Bennett Steel, want to help make
this a first-class tourist destination for travelers from all over the world.”

opportunity to partner with American Heritage Bank to bring a new icon to this
community."

Museum memberships are still available for those interested. Annual memberships cost
$45 for two people, while a founding membership is $2,500, which includes lifetime
admission to the museum for two people, a plaque with a chosen name on the wall of the
museum and 15 percent off purchases at the gift shop. Memberships are tax-deductible.
The Heart of Route 66 Auto Museum will be located at 13 Sahoma Lake Road in Sapulpa.
