SIGNIFICANT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
IT Strategy: Bank Al-Habib had a tactical IT strategy addressing current projects. Led a series of sessions with
Executive Management to understand future business needs, client demographics, directions and anticipated
changes in the financial services markets. Assessed rapid technological changes and developed a comprehensive IT
strategy addressing customer service, new products, regulatory requirements, operations and risk management.
Obtained management and central bank approval and then led the development of an enterprise wide proprietary
and fully integrated Core Banking System.

Enterprise Wide Systems Design and Implementation: At SSA, a provider of ERP software for medium sized
companies, led the product development team supporting 2,500 clients. The challenge was to develop packaged
product systems rather than individually customized solutions. Worked with Product Management and Users Groups
to prioritize backlogs and meet general client needs. Implemented better controls and improved the release process.
Improved customer satisfaction, widened product offering and improved international regulatory compliance.
Software Development/Engineering: Everest’s software development team was primarily based in India and the
product had serious quality issues and an unhappy client base. Initially restructured the organization to assign
module responsibility and hired more US team members to improve coordination and offer better customer
support. Implemented PMO tools and processes to capture product defects and implemented the tracking of
project/product quality objectives, content, and timelines. Within 3 months achieved acceptable product quality
and had a standardized release process.

Process Re-Engineering/Change Management: At Allscripts implemented the Agile Development Process within
Product Release Engineering to improve speed of delivery and address critical quality and CMS regulatory issues
that threatened their flagship product.

Healthcare Technology: At Allscripts successfully led development of required massive releases and updates of
systems to meet CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 and 2 plus meet World Health Organization ICD-10 functionality.

Financial Technology: At Bank Al-Habib led the development of a mobile digital wallet. This had to integrate with the
core banking system which in turn integrated with ecommerce systems to enable external purchases of goods and
services as well as transfer money between accounts and banks or use various ATMs. Analyzed business requirements,
and determined the need of an outside partner. Evaluated vendor solutions against the Bank’s evolving IT systems and
chose an external vendor. Led the start of the integration process and the product will be launched in 2018.

IT Risk Management/Governance: At Bank Al-Habib the development teams working on various IT projects
addressing different business needs tended to work in isolation with no centralized monitoring. Established a
Governance Team to perform a PMO, Program Management and CMMI Compliance function. This team
standardized policies and created tracking dashboards, staffing allocations, quality metrics and coordinated
purchase of external tools, products and services. This then reduced expenses, better aligned with business
expectations and ultimately defined the definition of “done” for projects.
