MCDONALD, did commit a robbery, while armed with a dangerous weapon or any article used or
fashioned in @ manner to lead the victim to reasonably believe it to be a dangerous weapon or inflicted

STATEMENT OF PROBABLE CAUSE ‘182018 11 32:34 A,

On June 6, 2018, al approximately 9:29 a.m. officers were dispatched to a robbery at Associated HealthCare
Credit Union in the city of Eagan, Dakota County, Minnesota, Through the surveillance and witness accounts the suspect
‘was a light skin black male wearing: (1) a maroon zip-up hooded jacket, (2) black or dark blue bandana with a white
design on it that covered his face, (3) blue shoes, (4) grey or dark sweat pants and (5) gloves.
‘The suspect ran to the employee, threw a bag on the counter and told the employee to fill the bag up. ‘The suspect
pointed the gun directly in the employee's face, ‘The employee started to fill the bag with money, including $200 in “bait
money.” The employee attempted to hand the bag to the suspect; however, he pointed to another employee and told her
to fill the bag up. The suspect twice told the employees not to put a dye pack in his bag, The bag was handed to the
suspect; the suspect told the employees to go into the back room. AS a result, the suspect obtained $8,236.00 in cash
and fled out the front door.
Law enforcement obtained surveillance video that showed the parking lot atthe credit union. ‘The video depicted
asilver vehicle that was identified as a Mazda: this vehicle arrived just prior to the robbery and left quickly right after the
robbery occurred.
An FBI Agent viewed the surveillance video from the robbery; the agent believed the male that committed the
robbery resembled DAMIEN JAMES MCDONALD, DOB 09/12/1978, hereinafter defendant, Law enforcement
located the defendant's address in St. Paul and responded to that address. A silver Mazda displaying Illinois License
Plates was located parked in an alley behind the defendant's residence. Police obtained search warrants for the Mazda
and the defendant's residence,
While law enforcement officer were outside of the defendant's residence; ared vehicle departed. A traffic stop
‘was conducted on this vehicle. ‘The defendant was located in the passenger seat; and his girlfriend was driving the
vehicle Police observed a blue bandana with a white pattem and blue shoes on the passenger side of the floorboard.
Additionally, there was an open unzipped fernale’s wallet on the center console with a stack of cash inside. ‘The defendant
was searched pursuant to his arrest and police located a wallet. The wallet contained a large amount of cash — two
paper-clipped stacks of money each containing $500, totaling $1,000 in $20-dollar bills. This money was compared to
the “bait money: five of the bait bills from Associated HealthCare Credit Union were contained in this stack of money
After obtaining a search warrant on the silver Mazda, police located a red hooded jacket under a blue tarp that
resembled the jacket the suspect wore in the surveillance video.
After obtaining a search warrant for the defendant's residence, police located a large amount of cash located

wore in the surveillance video. Additionally, items and documents were located within the residence in the name of the
defendant and his girlfriend,
Police spoke with the defendant's girlfriend. She indicated that just she and the defendant live at the residence the
