8-Inch Ring Gear 205-02-1

GENERAL PROCEDURES
Differential Draining and Filling NOTE: For roll stability control (RSC) equipped
vehicles, remove the rear wheel speed sensor plug.
Special Tool(s) For non-RSC vehicles, remove the rear wheel speed
sensor.
Oil Suction Gun
303-D104 (D94T-9000-A) or 5. Remove the rear wheel speed sensor.

1 Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor
electrical connector.
2 Remove the bolt.
3 Remove the rear wheel speed sensor.

Fluid Check

NOTE: When the fill plug is removed, up to one


pint will drain from the filler opening.

1. Remove the fill plug. 6. Add one pint of fluid.

Fluid Drain and Fill 7. Install the anti-lock brake system (ABS) sensor
and ABS sensor bolt.
1. Remove the drain plug. • Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).

2. Clean and install the drain plug.


• Tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb-ft).

3. NOTE: Before removing, clean the area around


the filler plug.
Fill the axle to the bottom of the fill plug hole.

4. Install the fill plug.


• Tighten to 34 Nm (25 lb-ft).
