When I realize that it is possible to apply to an exchange at my university and

specifically in my career, I quickly looked for the possibilities that are most adequate to
me. But before that, I thought that I would like to learn the culture, tradition, language
and gastronomy of other country. It is important to me because I haven’t travelled to
United States before, so this is a big opportunity to know people of other culture. As
well as its music, I study contemporary music, so I am interested to learn jazz music
and improvisation, and this is the country where I can learn with people where this
music originated, also some of these subjects are given at the university that I am
applying. Also is my dream to expand my knowledge in music and language, I know it
will be enriching.
In my quest of Universities I found the following options; the first one and the main I’d
like to apply is Saint Norbert College, I saw photos of the campuses and immediately
felt attracted of it. I continued looking for information and immediately found that the
subjects I can take are useful to continue my career. This is helpful because I’m
coursing my seventh semester and I can take subjects of music, and general college as
science psychology. One of the most important things that I liked of this university, is
that this institution offer Catholic education, it is important to me because in my family
we keep religious principles, and values. I come from a traditional family who goes to
church every Sunday, and God is the main center of our lives. Also I liked because they
are open to other religious, so I can learn diversity and from other people thinking.
Other important point and I am grateful, is that this university offers scholarship for
food and housing.
My second option to apply to an exchange is Beloit College, in this university I can
develop my faculties as a musician, not only in my main instrument, but also in other
instruments and ensembles. This faculty counts with great teachers and recognized
musicians who had experienced too much along his musical career. It also offers a big
gamma of sports that I haven’t experienced before like soccer, cross country, baseball,
etc. It has a great campus and several activities to do on weekend, and all its education
is based on liberal arts, that makes me feel comfortable and happy.
Both options offer scholarships, great campuses, and excellent education, that is why
I´m so enthusiastic and happy to apply and learn more of this country. I think it will be
good for my future, and I´m sure I will get success in all subjects taken at these
universities, because I have a good performance at my home university.
I am so grateful to Universidad San Francisco for its education and options to study
abroad, I really hope to study at one of these options mentioned, and so I´ll finish my
career satisfactorily.
