INDIVIDUAL PROJECT – PAPER-1


Identification of the Topic and skill
Identify the topic (from the given list) on which you would like to research upon. For that you
must identify the audience you are targeting.
Skills- Letter writing, Essay, Speech, Debate, Article.

Ask yourself:
1) What is that you would like to prove or disapprove? Based on that develop the “Rare”.
2) Who are you writing for? Based on that select your material.

Data Collection
If required, data can be collected through various sources. Information can be collected by
interviewing, researching, print source like books, magazines, encyclopedias etc. etc.
Selecting the key points.
After gathering the information needed for your project, read through them with the theme in
your mind and select the relevant points. The following questions can help you in selecting the
key points.
 Does the information relate directly to the topic
 Is the information current and error free?
 Is the source convincing enough for you to justify?
Note Making

Make notes carefully and systematically as the notes you make are a record of your research. It
helps you to remain focused on the topic. Always remember to sort and record the details
according to the structure that you have in your mind for your “RARE”
Important Note:
Academic research requires you to credit your sources and share with the readers the exact origin
of your information. So before taking down notes you must record the following information
about each source.
 Author or editor of the article or book
 Title of the article or book
 Name of the magazine or journal
 Place of publication of the book
 Publisher of the book
 Publication date
 Exact page or pages where the information is found.
For electronic source:
 Author name if available
 Title of the article or work
 Date and location of original publication.
 Date of electronic publication as well as date when the document was accessed
 Page, paragraphs or section number if available

Title and the “RARE”


Create a captivating and impressive title. Develop a plan from the title called the “Rare
Statement “The statement contains the main point, ideas or opinions the writer wants to convey
on the topic.
An effective “Rare” has four characteristics
 It should state the subject of the “Rare” clearly
 It includes a controlling idea about the subject.
 It should have specific language rather than vague words.
 It must establish a tone that is appropriate to the subject and the intended audience.

Word limit- Research paper -1 200 to 220 words.

PAPER-2 Self Reflection (Writing Commentary)


Write a page titled self-reflection. This page must contain answers to the following questions, in
the form of a paragraph.
 What made me choose this topic for research?
 What made me think in this way?
 What have I learned from this research work?

 How do I feel about this piece of work? What parts of it do I particularly like? Dislike?
Why? What did/do you enjoy about this piece or work?
 What does this piece reveal about me as a learner?
 What is the most important thing that I particularly want people to notice when they look
at my work?

PAPER-3 Resource Commentary Guide

 What resources did I use while working on this piece? Which all were especially helpful
and why? Which one would I use again?

Three reports should be submitted:


1) Paper-1 – Main Research paper
2) Paper-2 - Writing Commentary
3) Paper-3 Resource Commentary.
