The presence of hydrogen above the specified levels in the fuel requires

additional engineering considerations from a risk management point of

view to prevent equipment damage and personnel injury. Heightened risks

are associated with packages operating on gaseous fuels containing > 4%

hydrogen. The use of gaseous fuels containing > 4% hydrogen is only

applicable to systems provided by Solar Turbines that have been

engineered for such fuels.

Purpose:
To inform customers of the availability of pressure reducing regulators suitable for use with
fuels having hydrogen content.

GENERAL INFORMATION:
There are requests for pressure reducing regulators designed for hydrogen fuel service on
turbomachinery systems specifically configured for use with fuels containing hydrogen. Four
pressure reducing regulators with different temperature and pressure ranges for hydrogen fuel have
been sourced and tested. These are now available for purchase through Solar Service Parts under
PN 1555767-X.
