Cell Campaign Speech

Good Morning my fellow organelles! It is future president Ribosome here.

Today I would like to talk to you about why I am the most suitable candidate, since

our old friend Nucleus is retiring. By the way, good luck in retirement buddy!

So, first off, we all know that I am a very big help around the cell. I provide

all of you with the proteins you need to do your job. I am basically the cafeteria at

a school, I give all the students the food they need to learn new things and achieve

their goals. That is why if you elect me as your new president, we will strive and

reach new goals that we have never thought possible. We will change the way we

are set up and the way we work for the better.

It has occurred to me that not all of you know what I do, so I would like to

explain that to all of you. I am a protein factory of the cell, you can find my

workers and I in both Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells. Also, I am surrounded by

proteins and they are believed to stabilize my structure. I read the messenger

RNA and I translate the code to build proteins out of amino acids. I also help with

a huge range of activities within an organism. I also catalyze metabolic reactions

and protect against infections and provide shape and structure. Also, the proteins
are made by ribosomes they help repair damage, build tissue, directing chemical

processes, creating enzymes, to speed up rate of chemical reactions.

Some comparisons you could make of me to our past president. One is that if

you were to compare him and I to a school. Nucleus was the principal while I am the

cafeteria. He was in charge of the entire school, while as I said before I provide

food for all the students. But now if you elect me I can be the principal and the

cafeteria.

You are all probably wondering what makes me better than any of the other

candidates for this election. I believe that we all have our own special qualities.

One of my best is that I can make proteins that are necessary for cell functions.

These proteins are necessary for life without them we would die.

So, I hope that you will all vote for me! Remember, Ribosomes over everyone else!!!
