NOTES
Before you start you need check size.
1. Measure head circumference.
2. Use formula to calculate size of cloche crown

(D ÷ ∏) – 1.5 cm = crown diameter

Where, D = head circumference


∏ = 3.14

So for example if I am making cloche for child with head circumference 50 cm, I should make
crown size = (50cm÷3.14) – 1.5cm = 14.4cm. Ect….
CLOCHE

V-Stitch = 2dc with ch1 between them

Crown part (for all sizes)


Use 2 mm hook, ch6, join with sl st to form a ring.
Rnd1: ch3 to count as 1st dc, 13 dc into ring. Join with sl st = 14 sts.
Rnd2: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, dc into next st, ch1, V-stitch into next
st*, rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd3: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 2 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd4: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 3 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd5: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 4 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd6: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 5 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
For bigger sizes
Measure your work. Continue rnd 7-11, if necessary to reach right crown size.
Rnd7: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 6 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd8: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 7 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd9: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 8 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd10: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 9 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Rnd11: ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, dc in the same st, *ch1, 10 dc with ch1 between them into
space of ch1, ch1, V-stitch into V-stitch of previous rnd*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Your crown part of cloche should look like this and contents as much rnd as you need for
correct size.

Cloche part (for all sizes)


Rnd7-21[8-22, 9-23, 10-24, 11-25, 12-26]: make 1 sl st to move forward
ch4 to count as 1st dc+ch1, *dc into space of ch1, ch1*,rep from * to * around. Join with sl st.
Don’t fasten off.
BRIM
For all sizes
Please follow the diagram and description below.

Rnd1-3: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc into each st around. Join with sl st.
Rnd4: ch1 to count as 1st sc, [2sc into next st, sc into next 2 sts] - repeat around to end. Join
with sl st. Make sure that finite number of sts divided by 10. (Pattern repeat – 10 sts)
Rnd5: ch2 to count as 1st dc, dc into next 8 sts, ch1, miss 1 st, [dc into next 9 sts, ch1, miss 1
sts] – repeat around to end. Join with sl st.
Rnd6: Make sl st to move one st forward, ch2 to count as 1st dc, dc into next 6 sts, ch1, miss 1
st, dc into ch1, ch1, miss next st, [dc into next 7 sts, ch1, miss next st, dc into ch1, ch1, miss
next st] – repeat around to end. Join with sl st.
Rnd7: Make sl st to move one st forward, ch2 to count as 1 st dc, dc into next 4 sts, ch1, miss
next st, dc into ch1, ch1, miss next st, ch1, dc into next ch1, ch1, miss next st, [dc into next 5
sts, ch1, miss next st, dc into ch1, ch1, miss next st, dc into next ch1, ch1, miss next st] – repeat
around to end. Join with sl st.
Rnd8: Make sl st to move one st forward, ch2 to count as 1 st dc, dc into next 2 sts, (ch1, miss
next st, dc into ch1) – 3 times, ch1, miss next st, [dc into next 3 sts, (ch1, miss next st, dc into
ch1- 3 times), ch1, miss next st] – repeat around to end. Join with sl st.
Rnd9-11: Make sl st to move one st forward, ch2 to count as 1 st dc, ch1, miss next st, [dc into
ch1, ch1] – repeat around to end. Join with sl st.
Rnd12-13: ch1 to count as 1st sc, sc into each st around. Join with sl st.
Fasten off.

Using starch spray brim all way around, straight them and press with iron. Attach any ribbon or
other decoration arbitrarily.
