In the Heat of the Night

In The Heat of the Night (1967) is a film directed by Norman Jewinson that relates the story
of Virgil, a black police detective that is trap in a city of Mississippi for helping with the
murder of the most influential man in town . At that time, racism was very present in the US
and the character suffers from that during all the film, as the people in the village didn’t
wanted him to work in the case. Even though at the beginning he thought that the murderer
could be the opponent of the victim; we follow the investigation until we discover that the
actual killer was the man that owned the coffee shop that had an affair with a girl a got
pregnant. As she got pregnant, she wanted to abort; and the boy decided to steal the
money from the victim.
