Charly Carter, the executive director of Maryland Working Families, expresses extreme disappointment to Mike Boland about how he handled Valerie's decision to take a new position without considering the impact on Maryland and DC. Carter feels they should have developed a transition plan together to ensure the relationships Valerie cultivated with funders could be transitioned to the region. As the person who built the Maryland organization, Carter feels they deserve more consideration than what one campaign wants. Carter is concerned with the long term survival and reputation of the organization, which they feel is not shared by others.

Disappointed
Mike,
I
have
to
take
a
moment
to
express
my
extreme
disappointment
at
your
handling
of
Valerie's
decision
to
take
the
LG
slot.
Instead
of
suggesting
that
the
three
of
us
get
on
a
call
together
to
develop
a
transition
plan
-‐
which
would
ensure
that
the
funders
relationships
Valerie
has
been
cultivating
could
be
transitioned
to
the
region
-‐
you
instead
made
a
decision
without
ever
considering
the
impact
on
MD/DC.
I
realize
that
we
do
not
have
regular
communications,
but
as
the
state
director
who
built
the
Maryland
organization
that
put
Working
Families
on
the
map,
I
feel
that
I
deserve
more
consideration.
My
concern
is
not
what
one
campaign
wants
or
demands,
I
am
concerned
with
the
long
term
survival
of
the
organization
and
its
reputation.
From
my
perspective,
its
clear
that
I
am
the
only
one
who
has
these
concerns.
