Activity: Create edge blend end caps


In this activity, you will create two edge blends that converge with other geometry
to illustrate how the ends of the new blends are capped.

Open the part and create the edge blend


1. Open syn1_edge_blend_2.

2. Choose Home tab→Feature group→Edge Blend .


3. Select the two edges shown.

4. In the Radius 1 on-screen input box, type 5 and press Enter.

5. Click OK.

Notice how the upper ends of the blends are capped by the upper conical face.
You want the blends to end at the planar face at the top of the cone.

Modify the end caps of the blend


1. Double-click the Edge Blend you just created.

2. In the Trimming group, select the User Selected Objects check box.
3. From the Limit Object list, select Face.
4. Select the face shown.

The trimming direction arrow should point up; click Reverse Direction if
necessary.

5. Click OK.

The upper end of the blend is now capped at the face.

6. Close the part.
