Product description

General
The COP 1838LE is a hydraulic rock drill with a One outstanding feature of the COP 1838LE is its
maximum impact-power rating of 16 kW. The ma- high capacity in relation to drill-steel stress.

DESIGN ADVANTAGES

1 Hydraulic percussion 5 Rotation by hydraulic motor

Hydraulic operation enables the impact piston A powerful hydraulic rotation motor with re-
to be given a shape and diameter very similar versible rotation and steplessly variable speed
to that of the shank adapter and drill steel. delivers the torque needed for efficient drilling
The piston therefore imparts shock waves of and keeps jamming to a minimum. Moreover,

nism can be utilized maximally. Four different
sizes of rotation motor are available.

3 Reflex damping in percussion 7 Accumulators

mechanism The COP 1838LE is equipped with three easy-
to-replace accumulators of the diaphragm
A hydraulic damper absorbs the reflex shock- type: an intake accumulator for the percus-
waves from the drill steel and reduces the sion, a damper accumulator and a return ac-
stresses to the rock drill, feed and boom cumulator. The accumulators serve to prevent

good contact is maintained between the drill
bit and the rock. This has a very positive effect
on both penetration rate and drill-steel eco- 8 Collection of lubricating oil
nomy. The rock drill is equipped with a connection for
collecting used lubricating oil and thereby mini-
mizing environmental pollution.
4 Pressurized parting surfaces
All parting and connection surfaces are con-
nected with the machine’s lubricating-air
system and therefore kept pressurized conti-
nually. This prevents the ingress of moisture
and dirt, thereby keeping wear to a minimum.
(If necessary, the lubricating air to the parting
surfaces can be disconnected simply by fitting
a plug in the intermediate part).
