The Eid al-Adha   A dventure

*
Read
 the book aloud to students and introduce
them to the greater-than and less-than symbols.

*
Use
 props to demonstrate how to
divide a quantity or an item
(i.e., cake, dough, pizza) into
three equal parts, or thirds.

*
Using
 objects from the classroom or
balls students make from dough or clay,
have students experiment with weighing
and balancing using scales.

*
Talk
 with students about the holiday
of Eid al-Adha and the concept of
giving to those with less. This could
be a nice time to discuss collecting
food for a local food pantry.
