2.2 Advanced Features


 Provide the label graph edition software for any label design with the scope of 30*30mm~72*100 size.
 With auto label backing re-winder, can continuously printing labels and spit out the next label
automatically.
 Integrate an auto-packing system with platform scale (with communication function).
 Support UNICODE and can work with back office s/w based on NT, UNIX, INTERNET.
 Can select any kinds of font and language in PC editor application, and download for printing.
 Printing darkness can be adjusted according to label sensitivity, and with auto compensation of voltage and
temperature changes, makes the lifetime of thermal head 2-3 times longer than normal machine‘s.
 Support 60*40mm paper roll with 1000pcs labels while other competitive printer in the market only can
load paper roll with max.
 Capable of printing label, background and PLU name in different language for different countries.
 With 65*132 graphic LCD to display commodity name, price, weight, amount and other details
information.

3 KEYBOARD LAYOUT

4 HOW TO INSTALL PAPER

1. Follow the arrowhead direction 2. Open the upper cover


and push the two side buttons.

3. Put down the paper-blocker,


and open the printer head.

 Label paper installation

5. Rip off several labels in the front part of the paper 6. Roll the release paper in the re-winder axis. Put
roll,and insert the release paper to the re-winder. on the paper-blocker and close the printer head

7. Close the upper cover

5. Load the receipt paper like the picture shows. 6. Put on the paper-blocker and close the
(directly lead the thermal paper to the paper outlet) printer head.

If the paper-blocker drops out, please install it to the axis in time to avoid loss. Clip it to the axis
and pull it parallel to the end of the axis as the below pictures show.

5 OPERATION

5.1 Operator

5.1.1. How to edit operator

This is to edit operator information.


Method 1:
1) Press key ―System set‖ to find the menu ―Edit message‖ by key ―←‖ and ―→‖, then press key ―Enter‖
2) Input 10001 to edit operator, there are totally 8 lines for this message, one operator/line, so, you could edit
totally 8 operators. (Max 24 characters for each line)
Note: The Line number is the operator number.

Method 2:
1) Open Link32
2) Open PLU manager table → Press menu ―Option‖ → select ―Information‖
3) Input the name in "Seller" column and press key "Ok".
4) Press menu Red Arrow to download these operator information to LP1.

5.1.2. Operator log on


Press key 5 and input the connected Operator code (from 1 to 8).

5.2 Temporary message

5.2.1 How to name temporary message


Please follow the operation steps below to name the temporary message:
1) Open Link32
2) Open PLU manager table → Press menu ―Option‖ → select ―Information‖
3) Input the name in "Temporary" column and press key "Ok".

Double click each temporary


column to input the message.

4) Press Red Arrow in the toolbar to download these temporary messages to LP1.
Note: here you could input 8 different temporary name, but only the front 4 name could be supported by
LP1. We will modify LP1 to support more temporary information in the future. Please wait for it.

5.2.2 Program value


Please follow the operations below to program value for each Temporary message:
Press Numeric key 1 and press enter to program value for the first Temporary message
Press Numeric key 2 and press enter to program value for the second Temporary message
Press Numeric key 3 and press enter to program value for the third Temporary message
Press Numeric key 4 and press enter to program value for the fourth Temporary message
Note: 48 characters for each temporary message .

5.2.3 Print temporary message


Please follow the operation below on how to print Temporary message on Receipt or Label.
 Print temporary message on Receipt
1) Press key ‗System set‘ to enter system setting mode, and select an option of ‗Print Temporary‘ through key
‗←‘ or ‗→‘, then press ‗Enter‘ to select between ‗Yes‘ and ‗No‘.

 Print temporary message on Label


1) Open Link32

2) Open Label Editor Table → Put component temporary message on label


3) Download this label to LP1, then the temporary message will be printed out.

5.3 Printer model

There are totally 4 different kind of model for LP1 to print our label or receipt under different format. Please
follow the operation below on how to select different model:
Press key ‗System set‘ for 2 or 3 seconds, then through the key ‗←‘ or ‗→‘ to find out menu ‗Print format‘:
0: label means Label mode, printer will only print Label.
1: plu-wt means Normal Label/Receipt model.
Printer will print label or receipt under one PLU one weight.
2: n(plu-wt) means Multi PLU Receipt model (Products in Column–Different)
Printer could print one receipt with many PLU as described in below way:
1) Put Product on scale to obtain its weight value
2) Enter PLU code to print connected information
3) Repeat step 1) to 2) to print connected information of other PLU
4) After all PLU printed out, please press key ―Print‖ to print out the tail message to finish this operation.
3: plu-nwt means One PLU with Multi-weight receipt model (Products in Column—Same)
Printer could print one receipt with one PLU and many weights as described in below way:

1) Put Product on scale to obtain its weight value
2) Enter PLU code to print connected information
3) Repeat step 1) and press key 6 to print connected weight of the same PLU
4) After all weights printed out, please press key ―Print‖ to print out the tail message to finish this operation.

5.4 Additional points

1. Ticket Number
‗System set → ticket No‘ to set Start Ticket Number.
The default Start Number is 1
And the Max Number is 65535.

2. Total Function
‗System set → Prn All Stat. plu (Print receipt) → Input Operator code‘
All sales information of this operator will be printed out.
The max capacity which LP1 could store is 30000 weights.

3. Press key ―PLU‖ as Space key when programming message on LP1.

7 COMMUNICATION

Before you download data or driver, you need to test the communication.

7.1 Connect LP1X to PC

PC
Note: use Ethernet cable to connect LP1X to PC or use RS232 port to connect LP1X to PC

1. Open attached PC software LP-MNB V1.619, and choose ‗Link32‘.


2. Input scale information

Double click to Input printer Input scale IP

8 HOW TO CREATE PLU DATA

1. Click open ―PLU manager‖ and edit PLU information.

If the LP isn‘t connected


to scale, here you should
choose ‗PCS‘. Or the
label cannot be printed.

2. Click button

Input LP‘s
IP address.
Click ‗OK‘ to start
download.

Note: if you connect LP to PC via RS232, then you should choose ‘RS-232’, choose COM port and the baud
rate ‘9600’, and input the series number of the LP1X in ‘Scale S/N’.

 You can also import PLU data from excel file

9 HOW TO CREATE HOTKEY

You can input number directly to distribute hotkey for PLU, or distribute the hotkey by ―PLU manager‖.

Method 1:
1) Open ‗PLU manager‘, double click the column ‗hotkey‘ to edit it, and then click to save. You can
revise hotkey in the same way.

Double click these spaces to edit them.

1) Download a PLU file:
Click , select a PLU file, and click ―open‖ to download it.

10 HOW TO PRINT HOTKEY

1. Choose ‗Preferences‘ in PLU Manager:

2. Click ‗File/Hotkey sheet input‘ to set the hotkey table in the following interface:

first page: Font --- set the characters‘ font on hotkey table.
Load Plu --- click this item, you can choose the PLU in the pop-up window:

Background --- set background color for the hotkey table.
Clear --- clear all messages on the hot key table.
Default background --- set the default background color of the hotkey table.
second page: you can set two levels of each hotkey. This item is to set the second level on hotkey table. It is
similar to the item ‗first page‘.
all page: Font --- set the characters‘ font on hotkey table.
Clear --- clear all messages on the hot key table.
default Font --- set the characters‘ default font on hotkey table.
Price Visible --- set whether to show the price of each PLU on the hotkey table.
Load Image --- set image for the corresponding PLU.
Delete Image --- delete the selected image.
Use second page: choose this item to use the second level on hotkey table.
Cancel second page: this is to cancel all messages of the second level on hotkey table.
Note:
1. If you want to sell the PLU by using second page hotkey, please press key [SHIFT] and then enter
hotkey number. For example: use hotkey 37. Press key [SHIFT][37].
2. You also can create the hotkey table by this method: click ‘File/Hotkey sheet input’ to enter the
hotkey setting interface, press the button ‘Create’, and then the whole hotkey table will be created
automatically.

4. Print the hotkey: click ‗File/hotkey sheet Print…‘.

4. Cut a hotkey sheet down and insert the hotkey sheet into the keyboard.

11 Programming Label

11.1 General description

Open link32, and Click to open ―label editor‖, there is a default label appearing automatically, such as:

Click bar sign ‗ ‘ in the right to set the label components‘ size, font, and format, etc.

 Click the first bar ‗ ‘ and then you can see the interface below.
This is to edit the components‘ position in the label.
Click it to choose the item that you want to edit.

Input the digit according to the scale of the


ruler mark. Then the component will place
at the position that you definite.
Note: you can also select the component
and keep it, and the component can be
moved to any position that you want.

 Click the second bar ‗ ‘ to edit the barcode.
Note: this column can be used by the condition that the first bar selects the item ‘Barcode’.

‘Format’: there are two formats for this printer, Ean-13 and Int15. Choose the format that you want. We usally
apply the format ‗Ean-13‘. Please refer to Chapter 18.4 for details.
‘Direction’: the direction of the barcode. 0 – level; 90 – vertical (barcode number is on the right); 270 – vertical
(barcode number is on the left).
‘Size’: the size of the barcode. You can select the size that is to your taste.

 Click the third bar ‗ ‘ and then you can see the interface below.
This is to edit the components‘ size (except for ‗Barcode‘) in the label.
Note: this column can be used by the condition that the first bar selects any other items except for
‘Barcode’.

11.2 Create a new label

Input width (no more than 56)

Input height (no more than 109)

Select the label type that it will be printed.

Note: if you choose ‘Common Label’, it will be printed at the common width (no more than 56). But if
you have input the digit n (56<n<109) in width, and input the digit n (0<n<56) in height, then you must
choose ‘Rotate Label’, or the label cannot be printed since the Max. print width of the printer is only
56mm.

11.3 Edit the label
1) Choose ‗component‘ tool bar

Choose the tool bar

2) Choose the components and edit them.


Click each item in tool bar, and then click the label, the label component will lay in the label, select the
component and keep it, the component can be moved to any position. When you are editing a barcode, you can
change the direction of the barcode by changing the value in right column ‗Direction‘ item.
Click the item in the tool bar again to eliminate it; or you can click the component in the label and hold it,
and then drag it out of the label to eliminate it.

Finish the component editing. This is the sample after component edit:

3) Edit background picture

Click it to input words.

Choose the tool bar

Click the item in the tool bar, and then click the label to edit the label background. Click to select the
background and keep it, the background can be moved to any position.

Click to select the background and keep it, and drag it out of the label to eliminate it; or you can use
rubber in the tool bar to erase it.

4) You can also paste a preparative BMP graph as the label background picture.
Note: this operation is dispensable.

5) Save the label


A kind of PLU can edit 42 types (0~41) of label, before you download the label, you need to choose label
type. So, before saving, you should choose label type.

11.4 Download label format
Open ‗Label editor‘→press to select a label format which has been edited before→press to
download.
There is a popup window, select ―TCP/IP‖ and enter current LP‘s IP address:

Click OK, it appears prompt box:

Click ―Y‖ to confirm, then begin downloading, and it appears the popup window:

Click OK to finish.

12 SYSTEM SET MODE

Press key for about 2 seconds to enter system set mode.

Use key or to select system set items:

System set Description


<DATE> Set date and time
<ALIGN> Use arrow key to select one of the 17(-8~+8) different kinds of the excursion
and to adjust the paper to the most suitable initial state.
LABEL SELECT Choose label type D0 or D1
PAPER Using arrow to select paper type: label or no rewind
PRINT WITH Choose to print 2 inch or 3 inch
DATE FORMAT Set date format.
PRINT WEIGHT UNIT Whether print weight unit
PRICE FORMAT Set price format
AMOUNT FORMAT Set decimal point for total price.
BARCODE SET Set barcode type
PRINT TIME Set whether print time or not.
ROUND Set round input a digit range from 0 to 10
YEAR FORMAT Set year format (2 or 4 digit).
DENSITY Select printing density from ―-1‖ to ―5‖ with arrow.
MESSAGE 1 Set MESSAGE1 value.
MESSAGE 2 Set MESSAGE2 value.
BARCODE LINE WIDTH Set barcode width in label
IP Change IP of printer
ANTI WIND Open anti wind function
SPEED Set print speed
STAT. MODE Enter statistics mode
STAT. WARNNING? Whether giving a warning when statistics data full

Figure function setting (part 1)

Basic functions explanation:


Paper type:0:label;1:receipt ;2:no-rewinder.0 is the default.
Barcode type:0~99 (refer to barcode type table).
Date format:0: DDMMYY; 1: MMDDYY; 2: YYMMDD (D,date;M,month;Y,year).
Decimal position:0,1,2;Set price decimal digit.
Rounding:Set round carry digit.
Message 2:0~197 default message. If PLU data hasn‘t set message1 or message2, this PLU data will be the
default.
Display darkness:Reserved.
Label type:6: D0; 7: D1; 0~5: Reserved.
Package tolerance:1~20
Year format:0:YY; 1:YYYY.
Total price precision:1: N.N0; 2: N.NN; 3: N.N.

Message 1:0~197 message. If PLU data hasn‘t set message1 or message2, this PLU data will be the default.
18 -barcode:0, width 2/5; 1, narrow width 2/5; 2, Ean 128; 3, narrow Ean 128.
Sale date adjust: The valid date and sale date are related in time: valid date=sale date + sale date adjust, or sale
date=valid date – sale date adjust. You can set the sale date adjust here to confirm the time interval
between the valid date and sale date.

Advanced functions explanation:

Print density:Reserved. Setting on the scale.


Align paper:-8~8 adjust print position.
Horizontal Offset:Reserved.
Print speed:0~7; 0: the fastest speed; 7: the slowest speed
The lower the speed is, the better the printing impression is.
(Note: don‘t set too low speed, or the lifetime of the print head will be shortened)
Print direction:0~1; 0: Horizontal; 1: Vertical. This is to set the print direction of all the label in this software.
Account type:Reserved.
Security functions explanation:
Set the password of the scale lock function.
Weight unit:Set the unit of calculating price.

13 PRINT BARCODE LABEL

The printer supports 10000 kinds of PLU. You can set 72 kinds of them to hotkey.

Note: if the LP1X isn’t connected with the scale, then you should choose the unit of the PLU as ‘PCS’, or
the label cannot be printed. Please refer to Chapter 8, Point 1.

14 COPY LABEL

LP1X can copy the last label.

 Copy 1000 sheets


After sell, press key , then the LP1X will print the last label one by one until 1000 sheets finished.

Press key to stop the printing.

 Copy appointed sheets


After sell, press key + , system prompts to input copy sheets. Then, input appointed number, the

LP1X will print the last label one by one until appointed sheets finished.

15 MODIFY PLU INFORMATION

You can change PLU information via the hotkey table.

or choose the item need to be modified

Press the key to save your setting and exit

16 SELL PLU BY THE INPUTTED QUANTITY

Follow the steps below to sell PLU by inputted quantity:


a. The PLU don‘t have hotkey number

b. The PLU has hotkey number

+ + XXX (quantity) + + XX (PLU hotkey number).

Open PC software ‗Nim‘, set nutrition component, and then download the information to LP1X.
After you sell PLU, the LP1X will print the corresponding nutrition label.

18 APPENDIX

18.1 Special character synopsis

On the table below, the special characters No.1~ No.14 are for Portuguese and Spanish, No.15~ No.20 are
only for Spanish, and No.21~ No.42 are for Portuguese only.
It‘s no problem in having all the special characters on the keyboard at the same time. Please don‘t worry.
Lastly, please note, remember don‘t unlash the ―Shift‖ key until you pressed the corresponding key.
