SIMPLE PRESENT

El presente simple se forma agregando un verbo al sujeto. EL verbo no cambia, excepto cuando el sujeto es un
hombre, una mujer o una cosa o animal (He – She – It) En ese caso se le agrega una S al final. En los verbos
terminados en S, SH, O CH, X, se le debe agregar la terminación ES. Cuando el verbo termina en Y y antes tiene
una consonante, se cambia la Y por la terminación IES, pero todas estas modificaciones siempre son cuando el
sujeto es un hombre, una mujer o una cosa o animal (He – She – It). De otra manera, no cambia.

- I live in Santiago - She lives in Santiago

- You teach Spanish - The teacher teaches Spanish
- They study at University - Carlos studies at University

Su forma negativa se crea anteponiendo don’t (do not) al verbo. Si el sujeto es He – She – It se antepone doesn’t
(does not). El verbo no lleva modificación.

- I don’t live in Santiago - She doesn’t live in Santiago

Su forma Interrogativa se crea anteponiendo Do al sujeto. Si el sujeto es He – She – It se antepone Does. El

verbo no lleva modificación.

- Do you teach in Spanish? - Does the teacher teach Spanish?

SIMPLE PAST
El pasado simple se forma agregando –ed al final del verbo (tiene que ser verbo regular). Si el verbo termina en
Y precedida de consonante, se cambia la Y por la terminación –ied (STUDY-STUDIED). Si el verbo termina en E
solo agregamos D. Los verbos irregulares tienen una forma única que hay que memorizar.

- I studied English last night because I have a test today.

- Marta lived in Spain last year. This year she lives in Peru.

Su forma negativa se crea anteponiendo didn’t (did not) al verbo. El verbo no lleva modificación.

- My brother didn’t go to the stadium

- We didn’t watch that movie

Su forma interrogativa se forma anteponiendo did al sujeto.

- Did you do your homework?

- Did Marcela kiss you?
