The Department of Hispanic and Portuguese Studies and the Kelly Writers House at the University of Pennsylvania are hosting Chilean poet Yanko González for a conversation and bilingual poetry reading on October 19th. Yanko González, born in 1971 in Santiago, Chile, is currently one of the most prominent Spanish-language poets. He will participate in a conversation at noon in the Arts Café, followed by a bilingual reading of his work at 6pm in Penn Book Center. YANKO GONZÁLEZ (Santiago de Chile, 1971) is currently one
of the most prominent poets in Spanish. His books of poetry include Metales Pesados (1998), Alto Volta (2007), and Elabuga (2011). In 2007 he received the Critic's Award in Chile for his poetry. His poems have been translated into French, English, and German.
