Essential Questions

Objectives

I can predict the outcome of a book by asking and answering who, what, when,

Materials ● Kahoot
● Smart board

Read the title of the book and allow the students to come up with questions. I
will write 3-4 on the board.
Talk about the importance of asking and answering questions.. It is important to
Introduction/Hook answer questions because in order to be a good reader you have to know what is
going on in the books.

1. Show cover and read title of the book and allow the students to come up
with questions. I will write 3-4 on the board. READ THEM ALL OUT
LOUD AFTER.
2. Say something like “ Good readers ask questions before they read to
help read to help them understand the story better.”
Instructional 3. Read the book and show the pictures as the book is being read ( keep the
questions posted on the board so that way the students can answer as

Strategies 4. After done reading go over the questions on the board and allow them to
answer the questions and make connections.
5. Tell students to grab their computers and come back to the carpet.
6. Begin the Kahoot! game on the board.

Conversation- understanding reading- Go over missed questions from the
Kahoot! and make sure that the students fully understand the book and what
