A journey inside the wild Carpathians, the center of European civilization ....

Enjoy a mountain bike tour in northern Transylvania,
crossing remote areas of the Carpathians. 8 days
with everything included, in a magical place. This
area of the Carpathians, located at the junction of
two historic regions of Transylvania, Bucovina
and Maramures, is one of the last places in Europe
where you can still find lost in time villages, with
ancient traditions and a wild nature that retains its
original beauty.

The objective of this trip is to combine the pleasure of riding a bike with the direct
experience of carpathian nature and the lifestyle of some of the most authentic Romanian
places.
With our experience in this type of trips we have designed an 8 day tour, with 5 riding days.
We will travel 240 km in the north of the Carpathians and we will do two cultural guided
tours. One of them, a tour of the monasteries of Bucovina and the other, a visit to the
historic l city of Cluj-Napoca.

...a country full of contrasts,

richness...
astern Europe is a little known place, but with a lot to offer.
one of the last wild places in Europe being home to more than half of the great

lives in the countryside, in their villages you can still experience the rural lifestyle, in
ent traditions and customs, extinguished in other parts of Europe. People continue to
ng their own hands and animals for it. They still use horse-drawn carts to carry goods
oned way.

Romania, a safe country.
Romania is a very safe country especially in rural areas, cities are also safe in general except for some
areas of the capital as it can happen in any large European city.
As for health, public coverage is guaranteed to European citizens who are in possession of the European
Health Insurance Card (TSE), the Romanian health system has very good doctors and the health facilities
are similar to those in Central Europe.
In the case of this trip, the insurance included in the trip covers private services up to € 30,000, private
sanitary facilities are of high quality, comparable to the best European quality standards.
Means of rescue and rescue in mountain.
The areas through which our circuits run are covered by a professional public mountain rescue service
that guarantees maximum coverage in the event of an accident - Salvamont. Still, depending the areas, in
case of an accident, it might take up to several hours for the rescue team to reach the place.
One of the strengths of any trip to Romania is to enjoy the
Gastronomy
excellent cuisine of the country. This week will give us time to
check the gastronomic variety which is great and each region
has its specialties, undoubtedly influenced by the surrounding
countries, resulting a balanced mix between east and west ..
“Aperitiv” There are different types of meals served as starters
that can take tomato, olives, eggplant with homemade mayonnaise,
cheese, pepper, pâté, egg stuffed with pâté and butter, etc.
“Ciorba de Perisoare” is a broth that carries different vegetables, a
few balls of minced meat with spices and “bors” (a sour ingredient)
that gives a delicious flavor to food.
“Sarmale” It is a typical dish, which is served at parties and special
occasions, are rolls of meat in leaves of cabbage accompanied by
“mamaliga” (it is a kind of polenta) and “smântâna”.
“Tocanita” It is a meat stew with legumes, onions and / or spices.
“Fasole cu Costita” It is a bean stew with smoked pork ribs, very
appreciated in winter and well accompanied by “muraturi” - preserved
vegetables (pickled cucumber or cabbage and green tomato in salted
water).
Fish: “Saramura de Crap” carp on the grill or in brine, “nisetru la
gratar”, grilled sturgeon. Trouts served in different ways ...
“Mici” They are rolls of minced meat, with special condiments, made
in the grill, served with mustard.
“Bulz” It is a dish that carries eggs, “brânza de burduf” (a special
cheese), butter and “mamaliga”.
Desserts: “Papanasi, Cozonac, Chec, Clatite, Gogosi, etc.”
Drinks: The traditional drink normally taken with the appetizers is the
“tuica” (tsúica), also called “Palinca”. It is a kind of plum brandy and
other fruits that vary in strength and flavor according to the production
area (in Transylvania and in the north it is usually stronger).
One of the hallmarks of Carpathian Dreams is that our trips beyond
cultura
the sporting experience are an opportunity to experience the culture
of the regions we visit. The training and knowledge of our guides
on cultural, ethnographic, geographical aspects, etc. they make
our clients through entertaining explanations live an immersive
experience in the life of the country, that they will remember forever
Did you know?

... the Romanian language, is the only Romance language (mother of Latin),
still spoken in Eastern Europe, thanks to the inheritance of the Dacians, partially
conquered by the old “system”: the Roman Empire. Several investigations consider
it the oldest language in Europe, judging from the inscriptions found in the area of the

Danube River and dating from 8500 years ago.

... the Cucuteni civilization, is one of the most
mysterious of prehistory, its ignorance (perhaps
interested?) competes with its size. With a greater
antiquity than the Mesopotanic civilization, its legacy
is impressive, with more than 1,800 archaeological
sites only in Romania. Also impressive and
mysterious is his disappearance. Of the more
than 4,000 settlements found, 90% were destroyed
by fire. The experts can not determine if it was a
cataclysm or other reason that led to the extinction.

The famous novel Count Dracula, written by
Bram Stocker in 1897 took inspiration from the
character of Vlad the Impaler, a bloodthirsty
warrior who claimed the lives of 80,000 people
in the fifteenth century. We will have the
opportunity to visit the Castle Hotel Dracula in
the Borgo (Tihuta) Pass, the place where the
action of the novel is taking place.

Romania is a country yet to be discovered. And,
not only the considered “Carpathian garden”
hides some of the natural landscapes and some
of the oldest traditions in Europe, but also
houses many mysteries.
We organize guided MTB tours in the
north of Romania and in Spain.

On our website you can find examples of
our trips.
