engagement, and self leadership

● Attended Welcome Days to speak to potential incoming students about the Leadership

Volunteer Experience

University of Rhode Island Alternative Spring Break ​- Guatemala 

● Served alongside a select group of 12 students with Habitat for Humanity Global Village 
● Assisted in building a home for a family as well as well as many smokeless stoves 
throughout the community of Chimaltenango 
● Gained experiential education about Guatemalan culture through developing interpersonal 
relationships with members of the community 

 

Summer 2016  
Habitat for Humanity ​- Learn and Build Experience 

● Refurbished homes and cleaned the community of Des Moines, Iowa with a select group of 
150 young adults ages 16-18  
● Gained knowledge about poverty through group initiatives and guided debriefs that 
reflected service missions 
● Increased awareness for Habitat for Humanity through various methods of fundraising

Multicultural Overnight Program - ​Day Host 

● Assisted in a program for perspective URI students that identify as multicultural 


● Facilitated group activities and engaged in ice breakers in order to create a safe and 
inclusive environment for potential students 
● Provided information about the university and answered questions

New Milford Youth Agency ​- After school counselor 

● Worked with children ages 6-13 


○ Assisted with homework by engaging students in self discipline and personal

○ Identified and responded to student behavioral issues and reported concerns to 
camp officials  

2017 - Present 
New Milford Youth Agency ​- Summer camp counselor 

● Worked with children ages 9-13 


○ Responsible for groups of 5-10 students on various field trips to busy locations 
○ Organized and lead small and large group activities such as crafts, games, and 
theme days to provide students outlets for creativity and opportunities to release 
energy
