Human beings have often confused the process of natural progress.

The result of this malfunction was

pollution depleting our Mother Nature each second. India being a country where laws fail to protect the
green, we at Capacloud decided to bring the change, one step at a time. Indian cities and towns have
been experiencing extreme smog threats every winter and an elevated level of indoor air pollution.

Indoor Air pollution is real and life-threatening but much like climate change it is often dissed as a myth.
Well, its not. India has a death rate of 1.5 million deaths per year due to the diseases and dysfunctions
caused by pollution, as reported by WHO. Here are some certitudes about pollution that one must
know: -

 3 billion people cook and heat their homes using open fires and simple stoves. They burn biomass
(wood, animal dung, and crop waste) and coal. Economic feasibility is a big factor, when you
consider your hunger to naturally be more important than a little smoke from the open fire
burning. Except its three billion people.
 4 million people die prematurely from illness due to household air pollution, from cooking with
solid fuels. Insufficient ventilation and prolonged exposure to certain polluting elements are fatal
causes of tragic mishaps in many homes.
 50% of premature deaths due to pneumonitis among children under 5 are caused by the
particulate matter (soot) inhaled from household air pollution. It is no surprise that children,
especially in the more urban parts of the country are more susceptible to respiratory troubles.

Over the years, thousands of people have died a premature death due to air pollution. And the rates are
increasing as we fail to acknowledge the issue. Here are some stats for you: -

 12% deaths dues to Pneumonitis.

 34% deaths from Stroke
 26% deaths from silent Ischemia.
 22% death from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
 6% deaths from Lung Cancer

India and its governing system needs to address this issue immediately because the climate is changing.
Overheating of the surface is leading to shifts in ecosystem which will result in long term damage. These
damages might not meet the eye but like cancer it silently grows.

Western countries have indoor air quality guidelines that is 20 micrograms per cubic meter of air, which
keep the polluting activities in check. Sadly, in India, it averages to 375 micrograms per cubic meter.

A large section of the society dependent on solid fuel has fallen prey to its ills and require urgent
addressing and help. Government response - be it in the form of subsidies or otherwise - has been slow.
Thankfully, however, there has been a response.

But are we, as members of the civil society, brainstorming a solution for this?

Well, the good news is that I found a solution.

Here’s the Fairytale about how we plan to bring the eco-system right at your doorstep.

I had the most wonderful idea while watching Egiye Bangla, a program to showcase the entrepreneurial
capacity of our state on Zee Bangla. It was an urban gardener's dream. The winner, Jayabrata Bhaduri,
was one of the 4 entrepreneurs behind 'Capacloud' a start-up company.

They had a novel solution to increase eco-diverse and biofriendly biophilic designs. I was so excited that I
tracked down this Bengali entrepreneur Jayabrata Bhaduri on Facebook, sent him a message and
requested a meeting to see how exactly they did it. Kindly enough, he obliged.

The time spent in the laboratory/workshop and the terrace garden was pure magic. The extent and scope
of their innovation was mind boggling!
