A. Identify the members of the solar system.
B. Describe each members of the solar system.
C. Illustrate through a diagram how the members of the solar system revolve around the sun in the
same direction as they follow their own orbit.

Class I will group you into two groups boys versus girls, you will arrange the picture that I will give to
you. Is it clear?

Can you identify the pictures? ans. "Yes sir that is planets!!"
D. Presentation
Our topic this afternoon is all about the solar system. Now I want you to watch a video clips for you to
understand more, how the heavenly bodies in the solar system move or form, then while you are
watching I want you to jot down all about the important details about the solar system. Understand? ans.
"Yes Sir!!"
E. Discussion
Children, what have we watch about? ans. "Its all about solar system sir!!" "planets sir!"
Very good!!! So Solar System is composed of the sun together with the eight known major planets and
other celestial bodies that orbit around the Sun.
What heavenly bodies is this? ans. "That is the sun sir"
What can you say about the sun? ans. "Sun is the center of solar system"
Ok. Sun is a star with has a mean distance from the earth of about 92 million miles, a diameter of
approximately 864,000 miles, and a mass about 333,000. It sustain life on Earth being the source of light
and heat.
What are these? ans. "that is planet sir"
What are planets? ans. "planets are roughly spherical in shapes."

A planet is a non-luminous celestial body shining by reflected light. In the solar system there are eight
known major planets: mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune and pluto is
reclassified as a dwarf planet.
What are these? ans. "that is asteroids sir"
Where can we find asteroids? ans. "Sir, between the mars and jupiter"
An asteroids is any of the numerous small celestial bodies with approximately diameter between 1.6 km
with orbits lying between the Mars and Jupiter. An asteroids is also called planetoid.
F. Generalization
What is the Solar System? ans. "Sir, Solar System is composed of the sun together with the eight planets
and other celestial bodies that orbit around the sun."
What are the members of the Solar System? ans. "Sir the members of the Solar are the sun, 8 planets,
asteroids and other galaxies.
Can you describe each member of the Solar System? ans. "Sir the sun is the center of the solar system,
the 8 major known planets are mercury, venus, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus and neptune, and the
asteroids is also called planetoid."
How do the planets move around the sun? ans. "Sir, the Venus and the Uranus rotate on their axis from
east to west while the six planets are moving from west to east."
G. Application
Now I will group you into 4 groups then you will illustrate through a diagram the members of the Solar
System, or how the planets revolved around the sun to their own orbit. Understand? ans. "yes sir"
