DIALOGUE
MAKING PLANS FOR THE WEEKEND

MARK: Thanks God it’s Friday. We’ve got a whole weekend for us.
SUSAN: You’re right, I’m so excited about it. Listen, I want to have a lot of fun, so let’s think about
something that we will not forget easily.
MARK: You’re right! Let’s do something special.
SUSAN: Sure, what shall we do?
MARK: What about going to the movies?
SUSAN: What’s so special about going to the movies? . We do that every Saturday. Come on, Mark,
Try harder ! . Be creative. We can do a lot of things. We are young, healthy, sporty. And besides, we can
spend some money.
MARK: Alright….. Why don’t we spend the weekend out of town? There are some beautiful places and
villages we don’t know yet. We can visit them.
SUSAN: Oh, Mark, it’s winter and it’s very cold and the roads are icy. Driving is very dangerous now.
I don’t think it’s a good idea.
MARK: You don’t like anything I suggest. You’re always finding trouble with my suggestions. Why
don’t you rack your brains for a change and come up with a better idea?
SUSAN: Come on, sweetheart. It’s because I love you so much that I want this weekend to be special for
us. Don’t get angry, pleaseee!
MARK: Wait a second. I think I have had a brainwave!
SUSAN: I can’t wait. Tell me, tell me, come onnnn!
MARK: Susan, take it easy. Don’t get too emotional. Maybe you don’t like the idea.
Ok, here it goes. Are you ready?
SUSAN: I’ m getting both nervous and angry. Say it!
MARK: Let’s invite our best school friends over for lunch and play board games all the evening. I
know you love board games and you have a lot of fun with your old friends.
SUSAN: Mark, it’s a brilliant idea. Let’s do that!. How shall we do it? Shall we send them an email?
MARK. What about calling them instead? . This way we make sure they know about it.
SUSAN: You’re right, some of them don’t usually check their mails every day. How smart you are,
sweetie! No wonder I’m so in love with you!
MARK.: I’m glad to hear that, honey. Now, what shall we prepare for lunch?
SUSAN: Mark, it’s our weekend and I don’t feel like cooking for a lot of people. I’d rather order
something from the local restaurant instead.
MARK: I can’t agree more!. Let’s do that. Get ready for the fun!
SUSAN: I can’t wait to meet my friends and catch up with our lives.
