NAEYC Standard # 2: Building Family and Community Relationships

This artifact is a newsletter to student’s parents, about how their children develop self

esteem. In it I explain how children develop self-eSteem, how parents can help their children

develop healthy selfesteem, and some of the influences that can a節ect their child’s selfesteem. I

also give parents 7 tips on how to help their child’s selfesteem grow. I wrote this letter in the fall

Of2013 for ECED 204. I placed this under NAEYC standard 2, because in sending letters home

like this one I include families into the development and leaming oftheir children, it also gives

me a way to help empower families to stay invoIved in their c皿dren’s development. I leamed

from writing this letter that children are just like me, that their selfesteem can grow or shrink

according to what they hear’how they are treated, and what you say to and around them.
