CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

A. BAGROUND OF STUDY

In the modern era there are so much things has changed, from technology

start popping creations new as virtual reality, the fan without blades, and even

robot surveillance robot-sized micro, from health science comes the new things

that did not exist in ancient times, like IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation), cancer

treatment with gamma rays, knowing the fractured bone through the x-ray and

others.

All those things can be changed in the advance of civilization, but there is

one thing that cannot be changed by a civilization that is Islamic jurisprudence.

Islamic jurisprudence is a law that can't be changed by humans because of Islamic

jurisprudence is not man-made laws or rules that can be constrained in the same

can say lightly, as the Constitution of 1945 that if the mosque will be at wear the

lowest unit of either sanctions such as a security guard until the biggest units like

army even elements of the 88 as the enforcement of Justice in an area , so any

jurisprudence that if God in mosque will be at wear the smallest unit of sanctions,

namely animals up to the largest units like Angels and nauzubillah min zalikif it

happens.

There are so many kinds of Islamic jurisprudence, one of which is a way

of wearing that shar’i. Kids nowadays start wearing following trend without look

it falsehood so they are easy to fall into sin over any minor that they did not

realize, the main function of clothes is closing the awrah, as well as jewelry, and

the beauty of body. Islam instructs each male to dress that is well and good. Good

means in accordance with the function of clothing itself, namely closing the

Awrah, and Nice means quite sufficient seemed as body jewelry that match the

user's ability to have it.

Therefore, a way of wearing that contrary to shar’i needs to be

straightened out, so that we can return to the teachings of Islam are pure and free

from the influence of the environment, the Association, or customs are broken in

the midst of modern society now.

Therefore the author took the theme of teenage moslem errors present in

terms of Islamic clothing in the title paper “ THE HABITS to WEARING

SHAR’I AMONG MALE AND FEMALE STUDENTS of ASSLAAM ISLAMIC

SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ”

B. FORMULATION OF PROBLEM

From baground of study can be known some formulaion of the problem to

be solved that is :

1. Are male and female student have been wearing clothes that are legitimate

that according with the Qur'an and sunnah?

2. Are male and female students of Assalaam wear cloth that shar’i when they

are in boarding schools and in outside of boarding school ?

3. What are the obtacles of male and female student to wear shar’I cloth?

C. PURPOSE OF STUDY

From the previews background, the author has some purpose of study

problem there are :

1. To know male and female students have been wearing shar’i cloth that

according to al qur’an and sunnah.

2. To know male and female students have been wearing shar’i inside and

outside of islamic boarding school.

3. To know what the obtacles is found by male and female students.

4. To advise male and female students to always cover their awrah

D. LIMITATION OF PROBLEM

To avoid the widespread discussion, the author only observ the data from

students of islamic senior high school / Madrsah Aliyah, in Assalaam Islamic

boarding school.

E. METHOD OF WRITING

In the manufacture of this paper the author use a method , that is :

 Literatue

Writer use some book, hadist, Qur’an, internet and some islam magazine as

the liteatur.

 Observation

the authors observed that lasted for one month starting on 7 october to 7

september to male and female students of PPMI Assalaam.

 Questionnaire

the author collected data through questionnaires distributed to respondents.

F. SYSTEMATIC OF WRITING

Arranger of this paper consists of four chapter, namely :

Chapter one is introduction. In this chapter the writer writes about the

baground of study, formulation of study, formulation of problem, purpose of

problem, method of writing and systematic of writing.

Chapter two is base of theory, in this chapter the writer writes the

definition of awrah, parts of awrah, law cover the awrah, mahrom for moslem

and moslemah, definition of shar’i cloth, terms shar’i cloth for male and female,

and olso the dangerous of cloth do not used shar’i cloth.

Chapter trhee is discussion, in this chapter the writer writes the describe

the awrah is covered by clothes shar’i among male and female student of PPMI

Assalaam,wearing the shar’i chloth in the daily life of male and female students

of PPMI Aassalaam, the awrah of male and female students who often appears in

public, obstacles are found by male and female students of PPMI Assalaam with

their reason and various obstacles are found by male and female student in

covering the awrah and step the way to resolve it.

Chapter four is closing, it contain conclusion and suggestion.

CHAPTER II

BASE OF THEORY

A. The definition awrah

According to the great dictionary of the language of Indonesian faces

means the body section that should not be visible (according to Islamic law), the

awrah in the language comes from the word "araa" derivation of the Word

appear the words new creations and new meaning. The form ' awira (made blind

eyes), ' awwara (distorting, perverting and looked away), a'wara (looks born or

so), al-' awaar (the reproach or disgrace), al-war’ (weak, cowardly), al-' aura '

(the words and deeds, vile and dirty), while al-' Awrah is all things that felt

ashamed

Awrah is a body which should not be show and are putting out by a male

or female to others, other Opinions were also expressed that the notion of awrah is

something open, not covered, pubic, bare, disgrace and disabled. This means that

the awrah is understood as something covered by a person because of the shame

or inferiority if it's something visible or known to others. Understanding this

awrah often serve as a literary sense of the ' Awrah, so things can be understood

as something that can make the shame, disgrace or disability for a person from

either the words or deeds.

The opening of the awrah can also keep people away her dignity in the

eyes of the general public. Someone should already cover her body, as if already

open defects, disgrace or shortcomings in public, then the fact that person already

has no self-esteem and considered one by the community.

B. Parts of the awrah

Awrahhave limitations that should not be seen, the scholars also have

some opinions of this, and there are:

a) Female’s awrah in general

Islamic female's Awrah is covered so as not to be seen by a male who is

not her mahrom and also a female who is not a moslem is the whole body

except the face, palms of the hands and feet. There are some limitations on a

female's Awrah according to her condition, there are :

a. Female’s awrah when pray

Female’s awrah when pray is cover all part of body except face.

b. Female’s awrah when alone

Female’s awrah when alone is between center to knee

c. awrah when together with mahrom

Basically the Awrah of a female when with a mahram is a member

of the Center and part of the knee. Clothes that are cover body with the

customs law in islam.

d. Awrah when in the presence with men who is not mahram.

All part of body except face and the Palm of the hand

e. Awrah when in front the heathen female.

in accordance with the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad: "Abdullah

ibn Abbas stated that the Prophet said:" not halal Islamic woman was

seen by Jewish and Christian women ”

b) As for the awrah of female is the bodily basis and huluqiah :

a. Foot (heel)

According to the word of God "and they (women) stomping (or

lifting) in order to hide their jewelry is known." (An-Nuur: 31), that is

shaking the agency follow the beat of foot.

b. chest

God said, "Let them (the women) to safe fabrics (hood) to cover

their chests." (QS. An-Nuur: 31), the point here is to not show her

chest, lay side with her veil, or wear a hijab tutorial where it still show

the slope of the chest of a Moslem.

c. Face and neck

In accordance with sabdah rosul SAW "and stay with you (women) at

home and do not let it appear like those of the jahiliyyah.", the intent

here is to leave the House with the absence of preen (decorated) whose

goal enticing a male then the face will become the Awrah is unlawful

is shown to others.

d. hand

In accordance with the word of rosulullah "real head pierced with

an iron was better than the touching people who are not kind and not

lawful for him." (HR. At-Tabarani and Bayhaqi) intention here is better

we pierced the iron of the holding another person who is not our, said

holding it denotes that the hand is one of theawrah should not be

touched by the opposite sex.

e. Mouth (voice)

There is some history that says that Abu Hanifa was a female

voice Awrah argues. So stated the voice is part to the various faces, as

God said in surat al-ahzab verse 32 which reads "Let not the women

were too lenient in speaking so desirous persons feelings gone Askew

in his heart, but speak goo words." (Al-Ahzab: 32)

f. Hair

the prophet once said to be the prohibition of female hair appeared

to others that reads"o my son of Fatimah! As for the woman who

hanged her to boil his brains in hell are those that the world does not

want to shut down his hair than seen by man who is not his mahrom. "

(Narrated by Al-bukhaari and Muslim)

c) Limitation awrah of male

Like the awrah of female is the male also has the awrah, as for the awrah

of male according to the situation are:

a. the awrah ofmale in prayer, and to all the male and female who become

his mahrom is between the Center up to the knee.

b. theawrah of male when alone are two privates (qubul and rectal). Makruh

for someone looking at her body itself, except for the purposes of syariat,

for example for medical treatment.

d) Limitation awrah according 4 mazhab

a. According to mahzab hanafi

is based on ma'sur ( friend's word); "The awrah of man what is between the

navel and his knee or what lies below the navel to the knees. As for the

awrah of the woman his whole body except the face and palms "

b. According mahzab maliki

Imam Maliki divides awrah of male and female when prayer and

outside of prayer two sections. First, the awrah of weight (mughallazah) and

the awrah of light (mukhaffafah). The awrah of male is heavy on the pubic

and anal, whereas the awrah of light apart from the pubic and anal (in

Bidayatul Mujtahid Juz: 1:111) is Fahd (thigh) according to this sect is not

awrah, they quoted the Prophet's Hadith narrated by Aisha; "The war of

Khaibar the Prophet's clothing and tersingkaplahnampaklah legs". (Narrated

by Al-Bukhaari and Ahmad), However, this opinion was opposed by other

scholars because much of the evidence for other, more powerful and more

true. (In NailulAutharJuz: 2 things: 178).

The awrah of the female's entire body weight except for the ends of

the body and the chest. Is the tip of the body is a member of the ends of the

body such as the hands, head and feet. All the ends of the body that are not

considered Awrah heavy when sembayang. Maliki confine what is

considered Awrah light on female including the chest, arms, neck, head and

legs. While the face and two hands does not tread is considered Awrah

directly on the sect, the sect's opinion is widely followed by the Arab

countries in North Africa and the countries of Africa.

Indulgence in times of awrah in front of common in addition to his

mahrom not allowed by syariah whatever the reason .

c. According to mazhab syafi’ie

awrah in males is located between the Centre and the knees, in prayer

he is doing, between same-sex or to the female who is not mahramnya, it is

based on a Hadith narrated by Abu Sa'eed Al Khudri; "The awrah of a

believer is between the navel and his knee". (Narrated By Al-Bayhaqi). In

another Hadith it says; "cover your thigh because the thigh including the

awrah". (Narrated By Imam Malik).

Limit female awrah, including the entire body except the face and two

palms on the top and bottom. Proposition of this school is the word of God;

"Let not the female reveal her jewelry, but what is unusual looks from her"

(Surah AnNur: 31). Hadiths of the Prophet says; "The Prophet forbade

women who are ihromwearqofas (gloves) and niqob (coverd

face)".(Bukhari).

d. According to mazhab hanafi

awrah in males is located between the center and the knee argument of

this sect similar to that used by the maazhab of Hanafi and Syafi'imazhab.

As for the female awrah is her entire body except the face and hands, it is

based on the word of God and the hadiths above.

C. Law cover the awrah

Lawcover the awrah is required as mandatory prayer and fasting, be it a

Moslem or Moslemah, rosulullah SAW say: "Let no male saw the awrah of man

(the other), and also a female should not see the awrah of female (the other). A

man should not be with another man in a blanket, and should not be anyway a

female along with other female in a blanket. "[HR. Muslim, no. 338 and others],

in the hadith can known law MANDATORY coverthe awrah for male and female,

especially those who have baligh more intelligent

As word of Allah in surah An-Nur verse 31:

َ ‫ل يُبدِينَْ ِزينَتَ ُهنْ إِلْ َما‬


َْ‫ظ َه َْر ِمن َْها ْۖ َوليَض ِربن‬ ْ َ ‫ارهِنْ َويَحفَظنَْ فُ ُرو َج ُهنْ َو‬
ِ ‫ص‬َ ‫ت يَغضُضنَْ ِمنْ أَب‬
ِْ ‫َوقُلْ ِلل ُمؤ ِمنَا‬

ِْ ‫اء بُعُولَ ِت ِهنْ أَوْ أَبنَائِ ِهنْ أَوْ أَبن‬

which means Say to the believing female: "Let they hold their view, and

genitalia, and they must not reveal her jewelry, except that (usually) appear

thereof. And let them cover with a cloth to their chest, and do not reveal her

jewelry except to their husbands, or their fathers, or the fathers of their

husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, their

men, or sons of their brother, or sons of their sisters, or women Islam, or the

slaves they have, or servants of men who have no desire (for women) or

children who do not understand about the awrah of a woman. And stomping

their legs is known that jewelry that they hide. And repent all of you to God,

O believers that you prosper. "

D. Mahrom for moslem and moslemah

In surah An nur ayah 31 allah explained about female mahrom:“.......and

do not reveal her jewelry except to their husbands, or their fathers, or the fathers

of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers,

their men, or sons of their brother, or sons of their sisters, or women Islam, or

the slaves they have, or servants of men who have no desire (for women) or

children who do not understand about the awrah of a woman. "(Surah An-Nur,

24:31), from this ayah can be known that mahrom for female ishusband,

biological father, father-in-law, child, child of the husband (stepdaughter),

brother, child of brother , boy's sister, Islamic female who have a good attitude,

the Servant slave male possessed, servant (maid male) who had no lust for

female, boys who are not mahram but do not mumayyiz, Kids male suckler, your

suckler brother.

While that is a mahram male are the opposite of mahram female is wife,

biological mother, mother-in-law, daughter, daughter of the wife (stepdaughter),

sister, daughter of brother, daughter of the sister, Moslemwho have good attitude,

the Servant of female-owned, Khadimah (the maid), children of femalewho are

not mahram, but not yet mumayyiz, suckler brother, mother of suckler and

daughter-in-law

E. Definition of shar’i cloth

Clothing is generally understood as a "tool" to protect the body or

"facility" to beautify the appearance. But in addition to fulfilling these two

functions, the clothes can also serve as a "tool" non-verbal communication ,

because clothes contain symbols that have various meanings. Islam considers the

clothes worn is a symbol of identity, identity, honor and simplicity for someone,

who can protect from the dangers that may threaten him.

Clothing according to language is everything that attaches to the body

from head to leg. According to the terms, clothing is clothing that we wear every

day from head to leg in conjunction with paraphernalia, such as bag, shoes, and all

kinds of jewelry / accessories attached to it. Al-Quran least use three terms to

clothing namely, libas, tsiyab, and sarabil. Libas words used by the Quran to show

the inner or outer clothing, while the word used to indicate clothing tsiyab born.

The word is derived from a word meaning tsaub back, namely the return of

something in its original state, or in circumstances which should correspond with

the first idea.

Islamic fashion is an expression of the clothing that serves to cover the

human body can be protected from heat and cold. Meanwhile, the Islamic dress is

an expression of Islamic dress that serves to cover the entire awrah male and

female not transparent is not tight and does not resemble the opposite sex.

Moslemah clothing is clothing that is in accordance with the teachings of

Islam, and user the dresses reflect a devout Moslem on the teachings of his

religion in the way of wearing. Moslemah clothing is not just a symbol, but by

wearing it means that a female has been proclaimed to be the belief of God's

creatures, his view of the world, and a way of life that she traveled, where it is

based on a deep belief in God Almighty and Powerful.

F. The terms shar’icloth for female

Female have criteria where the current criteria shar'ī clothing is not met

then the clothes that female wear can not say as clothing shar’i, many of the

female who already know and follow the dress shar’i instructed in the teachings of

religion, yet very sad modes of female's clothing in this country most of whom are

Moslemah, moslemah prefer fashion trend and Western-style mode in order to be

considered sexy.

Therefore there are several requirements that must be met in order to

achieve perfection Shar’i clothing, namely:

1. Covering the entire body except excluded items.

See the letter an Nuur: 31 This ayah confirms the obligation for

female to cover the entire jewelry mukminah, do not show the slightest to

people who are not his mahrom except the usual jewelry apparent,

namely face and palms of hands.

2. Not tight that describes the shape of the body.

From Abu Hurairah r.a, he said that the Prophet

sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said,

َ ِ‫اسْ َون‬ ِْ ‫اط َْكأَذنَا‬
َ ‫ب ال َب َق ِرْ َيض ِربُونَْ ِب َها الن‬ ْ ‫ار َل ْم أَ َر ُه َما قَومْ َم َع ُه ْم ِس َي‬ ِْ ‫انْ ِمنْ أَه‬
ِْ ‫ل الن‬ ِ َ‫صنف‬
ِ

ْ ‫لَ يَد ُخلنَْ ال َجنْ ْةَ َو‬


َْ‫لَ يَ ِجدن‬ ِْ ‫س ُهنْ َكأَسنِ َم ِْة الْبُخ‬
ْ ‫ت ال َمائِلَ ِْة‬ ُ ‫اريَاتْ ُم ِميالَتْ َمائِالَتْ ُر ُءو‬
ِ ‫كَا ِسيَاتْ َع‬

َ ‫ِري َح َها َو ِإنْ ِري َح َها لَيُو َج ْد ُ ِمنْ َم ِس‬


‫يرةِْ َكذَا َو َكذَا‬

"There are two classes of inhabitants of hell that I have never seen: (1) A

people who have whips like the tail of a cow to hit a human and (2) the

women who dressed but naked, waddle, their heads like a camel's hump is

tilted. Such women will not enter Paradise and will not smell it, but the

smell can be smelled from a distance so and so. "(Narated by Muslim no.

2128).

Among the purposes of the wearing, but naked is uncover the

awrah, wearing in a thin, including the tight dress that reveals the shape

curves.

3. The cloth should be thick and opaque so it is not visible skin.

In accordance with the terms second hadith which reads:

“ْ‫ساء‬
َ ِ‫اريَاتْ كَا ِسيَاتْ َون‬
ِ ‫ ” َع‬meaning "and the female dressed but naked"

interpretation of this verse says that wearing but naked can be interpreted,

but wear very thin resulting adam easy to see what should not be

invisible.

4. Do not resemble haberdashery

According to hadist rosulullah that said :

َ ِ‫شبِ ِهينَْ بِالن‬ ِْ ‫س‬
َ ِ‫ل ِمنْ الن‬

ِ ِ‫ت ب‬
ِْ ‫شبِ َها‬ َ ‫ّللاُ َعلَي ِْه َو‬
َ َ ‫سل َْم ال ُمت‬ ْ ‫ص لى‬
َ ِ‫ّللا‬
ْ ‫ل‬ ُ ‫لَعَنَْ َر‬
ُْ ‫سو‬

Which means "The Prophet cursed the women who resemble men

and men who resemble women" (Tirmidhi).so let the female use cloth

leaning more towards feminine in order not to look like a male

5. Not flashy and colorful to attract attention

Tabarruj is the behavior of female who appeared everything that it

should be covered because it could arouse lust of male.

moslemah should not leave the house wearing up in such her

comely, but are allowed to dress up in the house, in front of the husband

who should get services that fun it, Allah says in surah Al-Ahzaab verse

33, which reads:

‫ج ال َجا ِه ِلي ِْة األولَى‬


َْ ‫َوقَرنَْ فِي بُيُوتِ ُكنْ َول تَبَرجنَْ تَبَ ُّر‬

Which means "And be ye remain in your house and do not ornate and

behave like people who formerly ignorance ..." (al-Ahzab verse 3).

Shaykh 'Abdur Rahman as-Sa'di interprets the verse that the purpose of

this paragraph is, " you are (O women) often out of the house with ornate

or wear fragrance, as was the custom of women who formerly ignorance,

they do not have knowledge (of religion ) and faith. All this in order to

prevent badness (for women) and their causes ".

6. Do not resemble the infidel female's clothing

Rosululloh shollallohu alaihi wa sallam once said:

‫من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم‬

The meaning"Who imitates a people so he included from the people."

(HR. Abu Daud and Ahmad with sanadshohih), which means do not be a

moslemah wearing in the clothes in which it resembles the way female

dress infidel, like wearing the reveal of her back.

7. Not clothes to seek popularity

This is based from ibnu umar he say rosulullah SAW say :

‫َارا‬ َْ ‫ب َمذَلةْ َيوْ َْم ال ِق َيا َم ِْة ثُمْ أَل َه‬


ً ‫ب فِي ِْه ن‬ َْ ‫ّللاُ ثَو‬ َ ‫شه َرةْ فِى الدُّن َيا أَل َب‬
ْ ُ‫س ْه‬ َْ ‫َمنْ لَ ِب‬
َْ ‫س ثَو‬
ُ ‫ب‬

"Those who wear syuhroh (to seek popularity) in the world, surely

Allah wearing humiliation to him on the Day of Resurrection, then

burning with the fires of hell. "(HR. Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah with

sanad hasan). Purpose syuhroh clothing is any clothing with the aim to

gain popularity in the middle of the crowd, whether the clothes were

expensive, which is used with the aim boast to the world, as well as low-

value garments worn one with the aim of showing his piety and riya '.

8. Not a perfume or fragrances

From Abu musa rodhiyallohu Al-Ash'ari anhu that he said:

Rosululloh shollallohu alaihi wa sallam said:

َْ ‫يح َها فَْ ِه‬


ْ‫ي زَ انِيَة‬ َ ‫أَيُّ َما ام َرأَةْ است َع‬
ِ ‫ط َرتْ َف َمرتْ َعلَى قَومْ ِليَ ِجد ُوا ِمنْ ِر‬

“Those women who use wewagian ago he passed the men so that

they get the smell, then it is a whore." (HR.Tirmidzi, Abu Daud, Ahmad,

and others with sanad shohih),so a female better if don't go wearing

excessive and perfumes attract male's attention.

And that's the terms terms shar’i clothing for female where the command is to

dress instructed by Allah and his messenger.

G. Terms shar’iclothing for male

How to dress Shar’i for male same as the terms clad female but there are

several requirements that do not apply to male as a condition number 1, which

covered just below the navel to the knee, a condition number 4 the female was not

supposed to dress like male changed to male should not dress like a female, a

condition number 6 of a male not wearing like male infidels and requisite number

8 does not wear fragrance but male may use fragrances in public.

DISSCUSION

A. Describe the awrah is covered by shar’i cloth among male and female

students of PPMI Assalaam

Cover the awrah and the shar'i clothing is two part cannot be

separated, because covering the awrah shall use the shar'i clothes, if someone

wearing shar'i cloth (not rigorous, transparent, and open ) but not cover the

parts of body he/she will exposed the sins because awrah which should be

covered is not covered, as well as if he covers the awrah of his body but not

shar'i so he/she will exposed the sins also because it doesn't cover awrah like

rosul told us.

Cover the awrah is not trival problem, because as known that many

people enter to hell because although they have covering their awrah in shar'i,

so if people are not wearing shar'i cloth they can go to hell consciously or

subconsciously, because that don’t let our awrah opened in public

Santri as students taught with the science of religion they have

good behavioral must cover their awrah, but if we look at the male and

female students of PPMI Assalaam there are so many things happen that

don’t want like open the cloth wich is cover the awrah.

a. Percentage of female students who know what it's awrah, law

covering it and prosedures to cover the awrah.

The author have do observed by using a questionnaire to

female student of PPMI Assalaam can be known that the pesentase

female students who know what it is ' Awrah, the law and the

procedures for cover the awrah is 100%,While pesentase female

students are not know the awrah and his laws amount to 0% from 25

respondents who answered the survey that author shared accord with

diagram number 1, it can be known that female students is very know

about awrah, this indicates that so much female students of PPMI

Assalaam who knows how cover the awrah but this has not been

proven in social life, from observations the author there are still many

female students that have yet to cover their awrah but they are already

know what is awrah, parts of awrah and how to cover it, it can be seen

from their activities like not yet wearing socks to cover their awrah

when travelling like go to atm, park and mosque.

The author have observed by using a questionnaire to female

student of PPMI Assalaam can be known that the pesentase female

students who know what it is ' Awrah, the law and the procedures for

cover the awrah is 100%,while pesentase of female students are not

know the awrah and his laws amount to 0% from 25 respondents who

answered the questionere accord with diagram number 2, this indicates

a very positive thing because of author observation results showed if

the average of the male students have covered their awrah properly.

B. Wearing shar’i cloth in the daily life of male and female students of

PPMI Assalaam

Covering the Awrah in shar'i for a male and female students is

mandatory, because that is the thing that distinguishes male and female

students of boarding school with out adolescent on the level of high school,

male and female student should cover their awrah in shar'i, order not be

judged bad by the public.

However the coveringthe awrah with shar'i hasn't done well among the

male and female students especially in PPMI Assalam.

a. Percentage of female student of PPMI Assalaam which cover their

awrah with shar'i in daily life.

Female students are required to cover their awrah in daily life

start from the legs, hand arms and their hair. The results from

quesioner that author shared show a percentage of number female

students who incovering their awrah with shar’i in daily life is 8% of

female students, which does not cover the awrah as 4%, and the

percentage of the female students who rare to cover their awrah as

88% from 25 respondents who answered quesioner that author share

accord diagram 3, if the results of quesioner combined with the

observationcan be known cause female studentsof PPMI Assalaam

more rare incovering their aurah because many obstacles like not yet

istiqomah in intention incovering awrah and also follow trending

fashion.

b. Percentage of female students in PPMI Assalaamwear shar’i cloth

inside and outside PPMI Assalaam.

Wearing shar'i cloth in the PPMI Assalaam is very required and

it also should be applied outside PPMI Assalaam, from results

quesioner that author shared can be known what percentage the most

number of female students who wearing shar'i both inside and outside

the boarding school is 16%, the female students who don't wear shar’i

cloth inside and outside the boarding school is 12% , and the

percentage of female students who just covered the Awrah rare

amounting to 72% accord to diagram 4. If the result of questionere

combined with the author observations can be known female students

who wearing shar'i cloth both inside and outside boarding school is the

female students who bring good habits to wear shar’i cloth from their

homes to islamic boarding school and also the female students who

aware the law that is already stated.While most of female students who

do not cover their awrah insde and outside with shar'i is caused their

laziness and they less conscious on law overwrites them in this world

and hereafter.

c. Percentage of female student of PPMI Assalaam which cover their

aurah with shar'i in daily life.

Male students are obliged to cover their awrah from the belly

button to their knees, so that is the part of the Awrah ofmale students

in daily life, from the results of the quesioner author shared can be

known number male students that covers the awrah in their daily life as

64%, while 36% answer if they cover their awrah rare and 0% students

who are not wearing shar'i from 25 respondents according to diagram

5, it shows a better percentage than the percentage of the number of

female students who cover their awrah in daily life, some factors that

support male students cover their awrah in daily life is simple covering

the Awrah only wearing trousers and a shirt, which is where these

clothes are not too covered until not cause hot or steamy.

d. Percentage of female students in PPMI Assalaam wearing shar’i cloth

inside and outside PPMI Assalaam.

Male students will be a leader must be polite when wear cloth

because this is follow the sunnah of prophet Muhammad SAW, from

the results of the quesioner, can be know the number of male students

who wear shar'i cloth both inside and outside boarding school as much

as 68%, while the remaining 32% only wear shar’i cloth rare and 0%

the number of students who are not cover their awrah with shar’ifrom

25 quesioner author shared accord diagram 6.

C. The awrah of male and female students that often appears in public

because the awrah is something that should not appear, male and

female students are obliged to cover their awrah because God's law in al-

qura’an and also sunnah rosul, but on the other side there are so many male

and female students of PPMI Assalaam show their awrah consciously or

subconsciously.

a. Percentage part of awrah female students who often appears in

public.

From the results of quesioner author shared can be know that as

48% female students who often appears to his legs, 20% female

students who often appears to his hair, 20% female students who often

appears leg and his hair, 8% female students who often appears to the

legs, hair, and other parts of the body, 4% female students who often

appear the section of hair and other parts and 0% who answered the

others from 25 respondents who answered quesioner accord to

diagram 7.

b. Percentage part of awrah male students who often appears in public.

From thr Results of quesioner author shared can be known the

percentage part of awrah male students that often appear in public is

the knees as 28%, while the belly bottom as 72% from 25 respondent

answered author’s questionere accord diagram 8. This is indicates that

male students weaknesses incovering the Awrah is at the knee because

the knee often appears when will shower, sleep and when sports.

D. Obtacles are found by male and female students of PPMI Assalaam

with their reason.

Male and female students of PPMI Assalaam have various answer,

like find or not find obstacles incovering the awrah, the answer author get is

very varied.

a) Percentage of female students who get obtacles in cover the Awrah.

There are Female students of PPMI Assalam who complain

because they get the obstacles incovering the awrah and there also

some female students who feel relaxed and not feeling find obtacles in

wearing shar’i cloth, from the results observation,the author get a

percentage of female students who find obtacles in wearing shar’i cloth

as 20% while female students don’t find obstacles in covering aurah is

80% accord to diagram 9. The reason for that is (1) rain make socks

they wear for shar’i wet so that it can interfere with other friends if it

smells , (2) laws in boarding school less helped to wearing shar’i cloth,

boarding school obliged female students the same cloth so they are

could not enlarge their hijab that is small, and also as the shar’i

clothing is limited with the law in islamic boarding school that not

shar’i.

The reason female students who don’t find obstacles in wear

shar’i cloth because the islamic boarding school had been told to wear

shar’i cloth that suite with TIBSAR so they thought they not found

obtacles in covering the Awrah, with added atmosphere of islamic

boarding school were though had covered the awrah with shar’i and

also they though their presence between female students that have been

wear shar’i cloth have make them wear shar’i cloth.

From the result of questionere many male students who get the

obtacles incovering the Awrah is 28%, while the male students who

not get obstacles in covering the Awrah is 72% accord to diagram 10,

there so many male student did not give a reason, because of the

obtacles they found just rain cause they lift their sarong (if wearing

sarong) so they are appear their awrah (knees).

E. Various of obtacles are found by male and female students in covering

the awrah and the way to resolve it

a) Various obstacles are found female students and how to resolve it

The obstacles are found female students in covering the awrah

both inside and outside the islamic boarding school is very varied,

there are obtacles when in boarding school can be an environment that

does not support for shar’i clothes, lack of awareness to wear shar’i,

would like to follow trending cloth that not shar’i, the socks is used to

cover the legs very easy dirty and the smell because rain, the veil in

Islamic boarding schools not shar’i because it is too small so if blown

the hair will be seen, tempted by a friend who was not wearing shar’i

cloth, habits to wear not shar’i in home is brought up to boarding

school, the veil at the top is very difficult folded so the hair is easily

visible, are said Goody-goody and wearing large veil like old mothers

recitation, are reprimanded by ustadzah if use big veil and is told

stripping it, until insulted by juniors, sections of OP3MIA, even friend

one generation. While the obstacles found outside of islamic boarding

school is environment that does not supportto wearing shar’i because

of the many people around who are not shar’i clothes, follow trending

fashion outside who are not shar’i.

The way to resolve it is with not ashamed with people said,

with do not care with people who comment to us, aware with laws

incovering Awrah and doom that God provided, know the

consequences of not wearing shar’i cloth is not smell paradise suite

with pronouncement rosul, looking for a sidekick who can remind us

when we open the awrah, deepening knowledge of islam and change

the clothes from the veil, cloth, and skirts are weared with cloth that

more shar’i.

b) Various obstacles are found female students and how to resolve it

The obtacless are found male students in covering the awrah is

take off the trouser when stifling heat, must wear short cloth when

swimming and when walks on beach, the habit to wearing short cloth

is brought to boarding school, the shar’i cloths considered strange like

if wearing pants cingkrang, fell greatest so arrogant with wearing

shorts, and follow trending fashion.

The way to resolve it with remember God's law, patient if

bullied, remind each other about shar’i cloth, and wear

trouser(training) or pants cingkrang while playing on the beach,

swimming and when sleeping.

CLOSING

A. Conclusion

From the discussion above, which the author explained at the chapter

before there are several the conclusions as follows:

1. number of male and female students of PPMI Assalaam who know the

awrah, the law covering it and the procedures for closing the Awrah with

shar’i is 100% so that it can be conclude that male and female students of

PPMI assalaam knows what is the awrah, law covering it and procedures

cover their awrah with wear shar’i cloth, although not suite with the fact in

real life because there are still much male and female students who don't

cover their aurah with shar’i in daily life both inside and outside boarding

schools..

2. The Awrah which often appears on female students is part their legs

because most female students do not use socks to cover their legs and also

teir hair that often out from veil although several strands, while the awrah

of male students which often is knee when sport, sleep and when take a

bath.

3. male and female students find obstacles in wearing clothes that shar’i

because the weather does not support, so for female students is very

dificult to covering their awrah section like legs when rain, while the male

difficult covering part of the knees while take off trousers when weather

hot.

4. male and female students find many variations of obstacles start from

internal factors like less istiqomah to wearing shar’i cloth until external

factors like bullied by others.

5. male and female students resolve the obstacles patiently and feel confident

over what they did was correct and not strange in the eyes of Allah so get a

reply from Allah SWT.

B. Suggestion

1. Had better the islamic boarding school enlarge the size of the veil in

kompotren so the cloth of female students can be seem more shar’i than

now .

2. kesantrian male and female students Should give attention to are clothes

wearing male and female students have been shar’i and told female

students use the hijab ( ciput, usualy to cover strands hair) to cover their

hair, using sleeves hand sock to cover them when shirt their use folding

or sleeves are large so it is easy to see hand arm female students and

wearing socks that their awrah is not opened remember PPMI Assalaam is

not a islamic boarding school that is not inhabited by male students.

3. An understading incovering awrah should deepened and should be

implemented in daily life to become the habits brought to the future and

not just be the usual understanding law.
