Using Macintosh OS X.

These instructions apply only to a printer that is connected to your network and has a valid
IP address. Currently this is the only way to load system code to a printer from Mac OS X.

Download the latest system code for your printer from the Minolta-QMS website. For easy access, it is best
to save the file to your desktop. The instruction examples following reference the desktop location.

Open a Terminal window. (Terminal is located the 'Hard Drive Name'/Applications/Utilities/directory)

At the command prompt, type 'cd desktop' (without the quotes) and hit Enter.

At the command prompt, type 'ls' (without the quotes) and hit Enter to see the contents of the current
directory. You should see the filename for the system code you downloaded (in this example, 'system.ps').

At the command prompt, type 'ftp xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' (without the quotes) and hit Enter. You will be asked to
enter a User Name and Password; simply hit Enter for both. (‘xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' represents your printer’s IP
address.)

At the command prompt, type 'bi' (without the quotes) and hit Enter.

At the command prompt, type 'hash' (without the quotes) and hit Enter.

At the command prompt, type 'put filename' (without the quotes) and hit Enter.

The filename in the command above represents the name of your system code file (in the example above
'system.ps'). This name may be different if you have a newer version of the system code.

Once the download is completed, type 'quit' (without the quotes) at the ftp command prompt, then quit
Terminal.
After the firmware has been updated correctly, the printer will reboot. The printers startup page (if enabled)
should show the new version of the printer system code now.
