Resumo: El objetivo fue determinar la efectividad de una actividad educativa en el incremento de

conocimiento que tienen los padres sobre las medidas de prevención y tratamiento inmediato de
las quemaduras en niños menores de cinco años, en el Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho. Material y
Método: El estudio fue de nivel aplicativo, tipo cuantitativo, método cuasi experimental, de corte
transversal. La población estuvo constituida por 30 padres de familia. La técnica fue la encuesta y
el instrumento el cuestionario. Resultados: El 100 (30), 77 por ciento (23) desconocen sobre las
medidas de prevención y tratamiento inmediato de las quemaduras, y 23 por ciento (7) conocen.
Después de la aplicación de la actividad educativa, 67 por ciento (20) conocen y 33 por ciento (10)
desconocen. Para comprobar la eficacia del estudio se aplicó la prueba t student, rechazándose la
hipótesis nula, es decir es efectiva la actividad educativa en el incremento de conocimiento de los
padres sobre prevención y tratamiento inmediato de las quemaduras. Conclusiones: La actividad
educativa es efectiva en el incremento de conocimiento que tienen los padres sobre las medidas
de prevención y tratamiento inmediato de las quemaduras en niños menores de 5 años en el
Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho...(AU)
The objective was to determine the effectiveness of an educative activity in the increase of
knowledge which they have the parents on the measures of prevention and immediate treatment
of the burns in smaller children of five years, in the Hospital San Juan de Lurigancho. Material and
Method: The study was of aplicative level, quantitative type, method cuasi-experimental, of cross
section. The population was constituted by 30 parents of family. The technique was the survey and
the instrument the questionnaire. Results: The 100 per cent (30), 77 per cent (23) do not know on
the measures of prevention and immediate treatment of the burns, and 23 per cent (7) know.
After the application of the educative activity, 67 per cent (20) know and 33 per cent (10) do not
know. In order to verify the effectiveness of the study student was applied to test t, rejecting the
null hypothesis, that is to say, the educative activity in the increase of knowledge of the parents is
effective on prevention and immediate treatment of the burns. Conclusions: The educative activity
is effective in the increase of knowledge that has the parents on the measures of prevention and
immediate treatment of the burns in smaller children of 5 years in the Hospital San Juan de
