The Goshorns Step by Step

March 2018
This month we started a prayer group in our
home. This is something we should have started long The
ago. It’s very encouraging to have a group of people
praying for one another and praising the Lord together
in our home once a week. If you have any prayer
concerns we would love to hear them so we can pray
for you in our weekly prayer group.

We’re excited that we have both Hilda and Angel

education. This is a big opportunity for them coming it reveals about God and who they might share this

prayers and financial support. If you haven’t
yet, we ask that you would prayerfully
consider financially supporting this ministry

ministry can not continue to grow. We love
you all and thank you for being part of God’s
work in Peru.

. On the first page I told you about Hilda and Angel having the privilege of attending the University
here in Huancayo. They are both 18 years old and have lived in the Orphanage for most of their lives.
There stories are amazing. They were both picked up while living and sleeping on the streets by the police
and taken to the orphanage. The abuse, hunger and hopelessness they’ve known is something most
people will never experience. The only home they ever really knew was the orphanage and the were quite
nervous about leaving. They loved living there because it was safe and they had 3 meals a day. The law of
Peru requires they leave the orphanage the day after their 18th birthday. Last year, Jennifer and I could
sense the anxiety in them because they would be turning 18 and had no idea what they would do. We
heard them talk about wanting to go to college but they knew it was completely out of reach for them.
When Jennifer and I were in the states last year we shared about them and in one church we had people
come up and tell us they would sponsor them through all their college years. We were blown away. When
we returned to Peru we were able to tell them how their life took a major turn. This is definitely a chance
of a lifetime. On Angel’s first day of classes I asked him what he thought and he said it was “beautiful”, I’ve
never heard of college described like that.
Hilda and Angel can’t figure out why people that they’ve never met from the states would do
something like this. They do know that this is a gift from God and they want to learn more. This is a life
they’ve never known and so this is going to come with lots of challenges and temptations. We will do what
we can for them. What they need is for all of you to keep them in your prayers.

Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Matthew 19:13-14
Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the
disciples rebuked them.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs
to such as these.”
