Experience The University of blah blah, UK Research Assistant July 2014 - Present Analysed data from a large cohort of patients to determine phenotypic risk factors for an aortic disease using Python for a pending publication. Extensive data cleaning and ltering using the Pandas library. Applied statistical methods using SciPy to determine signicant relationships between causative genetic variants and phenotypic features. Utilised data visualisation libraries (Matplotlib and Seaborn) to present analysed data. Source code can be found at github.com/blah/blah Developed and maintained software which parses genetic data through a bioinformatic analysis pipeline to allow novice UNIX users to perform the analysis on their own datasets. Source code can be found at github.com/blah/blah Developed, optimised and documented a sequencing method which decreased our dependency upon external service providers thereby reducing data generation time from 8 weeks to 1 week. Primary manuscript writer, rst author and submitter of our research ndings on Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms and Dissections. Presented weekly reports of research progress to communicate research ndings through powerpoint presentations, jupyter notebooks and discussion groups. Tutored researchers in scripting, data processing and working in high performance computing environments. Participated in institute wide programming challenges to complete Project Euler problems to improve and test my knowledge of Python. The University of blah blah, UK Research Technician March 2013 - July 2014 Patient sample preparation and processing for sequencing on next generation sequencing platforms to identify genetic variants involved in various skin disorders.
