Newsletter August 2010

Richard Thompson, our preacher on July 18th,

urged us not to be so concerned with busyness that
we neglected the things which really matter, like in
the Martha and Mary story (Luke Ch 10 if you want
to check it out) .

Autobiography of a Super-Tramp. JM

WHAT is this life if, full of care,

We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where s quirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile h er eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

During the year 2009-2010 the following payments were made-
• £500 to Phakamisa, South A frica
• £500 to Commitment for Life, Bangladesh
• £500 to shares in the Fairtrade Co-operative in Holmfirth
