Warnings and Notes Warnings: Safety regulations require that the unit should be returned in Its original condtion and that components identical to the original components are used. The satety ‘components are indicated by the symbol In order to prevent damage to ICs and transistors, all bigh-volage flashovers must be avoided. In order to prevent damage to the piture tube, the method shown in Fig. 9.1 should be used to discharge the picture tube. Use a high-voltage probe and a multimeter (postion 10C-V). Discharge until the mater reading is OV (afler approx. 208) esp ab All ICs and many other semiconductors are sensitive to electrostatic discharges (ESD). Caroless handling during repair can drastically shorten the life. Make sure that ‘uring repair you are connected by a pulse band with resistance tothe same potential asthe earth of the unt. Keep components and tools also at this same potential ‘When repairing a unit, always connect It to the mains voltage via an Isolating transformer Be careful when taking measurements in the high-voltage section and on the picture tube Never replace modules or other components while the Unit is switched on, Itis recommended that safety goggles are worn when. replacing the picture tube. When making setings, use plastic rather than metal tools. ‘This will prevent any short crcuts and the danger of a circuit becoming unstable. [Aor repair the wiing should be fastened once mare in the cable clamps fortis purpose. 10. ". 12. CHASSIS FL1.10§ 2 | In exder to provent measuring errors, the heat sinks should not be used as reference points for ‘measuroments. The heat sink for the sound output ‘amplifier Is connected to the -16/-11 volts. (On this unt the 140 volt supply voltage is not supplied via fan interconnection on the deflection yoke to the line ‘output transformer. When the deflection cable is detached, the +140 volt supply remains loaded. In order to unload the +140 volts, cal 5511 should be removed. Together with the deflection unt and any ‘muttipole unit the flat square picture tubes used form an Integrated unit. The deflection and the mukipole units are ‘set optimally atthe factory. Adjustment ofthis unit curing repairis therotore nat recommended. Notes ‘The direct voltages and oscilograms should be measured with rogard tothe tuner earth (4), or hot earth ( L) 2s this is called ‘The direct votages and osctlagrams shown inthe diagrams should be measured in the Service Default Mode (see chapter 8) with a colour bar signal and stereo sound (L: kHz, R: 1 kHz unless stated otherwise) and picture cartier at 475.25 MHz Where necessary, the oscilograms and direct volages fare measured with CIP) and without aerial signal (3) Voltages in the power supply section are measured both for normal operation ( €)} and in standby ( © ). These values are Indicated by means of the appropriate symbols, “The pleture tube PCS has printed spark gaps. Each spark gap s connected between an electrode ofthe picure tube and the Aquadag coating. ‘The semiconductors indicated in the irult diagram and In the parts lists are completely interchangeable per position with the somiconductors in the unt respective of the type indication on these semiconductor. ‘The connectors used for the modules (board to board) fare gold-plated ane should only be replaced by tho same ‘ype.
